Huge vape, everytime (without the burn taste?):
First of all, "foolproof" is not going to happen, so I've pretty much tossed that requirement out the window.
My personal recommendation for a great mod is the JTank. Again, this is all in the eye of the beholder. If you are a huge fan of, say, the RoughStack, the JTank isn't exactly going to work for you. And they may look a little funny if you insist on using 510 batteries.
Again, just my personal advice (oh, the JTank isn't a battery mod, but a cartomizer mod).
If you want a big battery mod to stick the JTank on, I recommend the Silver Bullet. Which you will need to buy batteries for, and a battery charger. I do feel that most people do not provide the kind of respect that are due to the batteries used by these big battery mods. The Lion battery requires special care... so be sure to read up on them.
Anyways... reasoning...
JTank
Dripping is tedious. Cartomizers taste burnt. Clearomizers leak. Cartridges... are well... even more tedious then dripping. With every single one of these, at one time or another, you're going to end up with a mouth full of juice. The list goes on and on with problems trying to find the "right" setup. Enter the JTank. I love these things, and can not recommend them enough. For this tank you will need a Boge Cartomizer (I really recommend the Boge branded ones). The JTank is a three peice tank kit that wraps around a cartomizer. The cartomizer has two holes punched in it, and is fed juice through those holes. Try as I might, I've not had this tank leak (and I'm not exactly graceful, so I have tried in many accidental ways trying to get it to leak). Every draw on it has been perfect... even on the thickest of VG only juices... never have I had a burnt taste or a dry hit with it. Never have I sucked up any juice. You can easily see how much liquid is left. The only draw backs that come to mind are that it is a little difficult to fill (but, I only need to fill it twice a day) and it's a little bit large (but not as large as you think it appears in photographs) so it doesn't work with some mods. Also, being large, it kind of commits you to one flavor of juice for a quite some time before you manage to vape everything that is in it. On the plus side, it's only $20, so it's not a huge loss if you decide you do not like it.
The Silver Bullet
I personally think everyone should have one of these mods. From their simplicity to their reliability... not only do these make a great first mod, the also make a great back up mod for if/when you decide you want to try other mods. The button is huge, easy to press, reliable, and placed perfectly. You can get at it with your index finger or thumb, which is pretty much the fingers God intended us to use to push buttons. Mods like the GGTS and Megalodon (both are good mods, btw) require pressing the button with your tiniest and weakest of fingers... odd to get used to. Mods like the OmeGa and Copper require a pushing/pulling down action on the top that can prove to be awkard and tedious (especially painful for someone with arthritus or RSI). I can go on and on about button placement... but, just to get to the point... the Silver Bullet has a fantastic user interface. The unit is rock solid.. although it is made of aluminum... it feels like it's stainless steel. It's going to hold up. And if you do manage to break it, the customer service provided by it's manufacturer is top notch. Although, it's not perfect. It is a big mod (it's designed for an 18650 battery after all). I do have a small problem with it not being vented at the bottom... although it is designed to vent out of the button in case of a thermal runaway battery, I would just have felt better if it was bottom vented too. The Silver Bullet isn't stupidly expensive, but with batteries and a charger, it can run you upwards $100.
Ironically, though... I sit here and recommend the JTank on a Silver Bullet, but I'm vaping on a Sapphire Bud on an eGo-T battery. =)
Well... if you've made it this far through my post... I want you to keep in mind that my initial recommendation was the JTank. The Silver Bullet recommendation was just because it seemed you wanted a battery mod. I recommend you pick up the JTank (don't forget a carto) before you pick up a battery mod. =)
