Hey guys just started posting oh about 10 min. ago lol. I am currently using an epower 14650 and love it. I have been debating on getting into the world of mods and just cant decide on what I want. I have looked at the Silver Bullet and the Lavatube and they both seem awesome but I just wanted some advice from the vets as to what would be a good mod to start out with. Provari seems wicked too. So many choices and I just cant decide. Its just like carts, attys, dual coil, etc... etc... There are just so many choices. Anyway any first hand experience or just straight recommendations would be awesome. Thanks :)

I currently have been using a V2 kr808-1 and have also been interested in getting something more out of this whole experience. I was looking at the provari and was wondering if it was worth it due to price and everything. Not sure how attys work due to mine are built in,ect. I have been using the clearomizers and love them though.

Depends on what you want. If you want a fixed voltage, the GLV2 5V, the Riva Indulgence V3, the Bolt, Silver Bullet, Touchwood, WOW 5V are all good units.

For variable voltage, I would avoid the LavaTube. The Darwin is top of the line followed by the ProVari and BuzzPro. Personally, I've not owned a Darwin yet so I can't comment but from what I've read, that would be the way to go. As for the ProVari, it didn't impress me. Too heavy and wouldn't allow for the kind of high voltage vaping that I enjoy. The BuzzPro is more versatile and will allow for closer to what I like but even then, it's still not quite there. I love 6V with a dual coil cartomizer so one of the first ones I listed suit me better than a VV does.

Price, features, and size are all important info if we are to answer that. For what its worth, I love my maxi roughstack and I'm considering a buzz pro or a saber touch vv (or a custom vv). I plan on a lavatube, though my issue with boost regulator mods (single battery) is the same as Hairballs. Simply not enough horsepowers at the top end.

Ok So I thought about this information for a bit and started analyzing what i like about the epower and what i am looking for in a mod. Here is the list I came up with.

Affordability (100-150 range)
Pocketability (is this a word spell check doesn't think so)
Durability (I'm not hard on em but I do tend to drop mine on occasion)
Ability to switch out parts and not have to rebuy entire units. Even tho it is simple, that is one of the things I really like about my e-power 14650.
Variable Voltage thru either a switch, button presses, or battery stacking/switching would be nice.

So far I have only vaped at 3.7 +/- I really want to try some higher voltages. I am also just now going to get into the world of dripping. I have tried GV Sapphires 2.0, Fluxomizers, & Smoktek LR DCCs.

Anyway if there is any other information you would like, lmk and I will see what I can do.

As always all replies are appreciated. Thanks again.

The affordability is the one thing that's a bit rough. If you're willing to bump that up by about $10, a satin finish ProVari would be perfect. They're simple, USA made, VV and durable. They're not heinously large either, especially if you forego the 18650 extension. I swear by them. They're great units for dripping, but I'm more of a carto tank user myself. :)

Hi,

I may have only 2 posts but I have been vaping for some 600+ odd days now, started of with a 510 like most other people then upgraded to an indulgence then a provari. my gripe with the indulgence is its button seems to get stuck in the "on" position for unknow reasons. The provari was a really good PV with all its features. but it was just not the PV for me I guess. I usually get drunk which might spell disaster if i drop my provari somewhere wet (like the sewer) or a pool or maybe the bucket of ice they serve the beer bottles in, and the battery life is not up to par for my requirements (step up circuit) so I sold that. Now in about 6 days I will be getting my reo which I think will fit my requirements. Im not that big on cartos or tanks or very "long" mods either. Im more of a dripping man myself using my favorite 306 on 6v =) so being bottom fed means like constant dripping on demand , and the "all mechanical" aspect of a reo sweetens up the deal. This is just my own opinion though and im not in any way connected to reo mods. (and i think their coming out with a vv reo)

I'd really suggest to you to try a good carto tank sometime. Not the run of the mill generic tanks most vendors have. I used to swear by bottom feeding, in fact I still have a RSM VV Cutlass, a VV Sweet Vape and a Reo Grand. I wanted to cut out the excessive need to squonk, especially when it comes to atty's. most carto tanks didn't suit my fancy (they were difficult to use and I missed the full, rich flavor that came with dripping), but I found some that did. Real maintenance free vaping is the best, and I'm sure it would suit a frequent drinker like yourself nicely. :)

Yea I would go all the way up to 200 if it was worth it. I have looked at the provari and there is something about the mod that I just cant be ok with if that makes sense. I am sure it is a great mod. Hell it looks like it has all the bells and whistles. I honestly think there is just so much out there I am trying to research it all and find that perfect mod on the first shot which probably wont happen. The search is 1/2 the fun for me tho.

I can understand that. What is it about the ProVari that doesn't suit your fancy? That might help me in suggesting something better.

Actually the Provari is above your price range when you look at everything needed, although it's a fine PV. I prefer the variable wattage Darwin. It's easier to use, the ultimate in consistency due to the regulated boost circuit technology and has excellent battery life in the 21 - 35 hour range and doubles as a pass-through. And you can use 1.5 ohm dual coil cartos with it unlike many VV models. Comes with a standard 2 year warranty. But it too is higher than you want to go.

Good Luck whatever you decide.

Note: if you decide on a fixed volt model, I would go with the previous suggestion of the 5 volt GLV2. Comes with a lifetime warranty it is built so well.

Hey hold up a second. Why avoid the Lavatube? I haven't seen anything bad about the unit, some think it's pretty huge, but that doesn't bother me. I'm asking because I just ordered one and am now kinda worried. It self adjusts if you slap on a low res atty and you have it cranked up, which is ok with me as I'm new to this and don't want to go blowing up my face, I understand the more seasoned vapers may not like that feature, but it gives me a comfort level at this point.
