Yeah I don't think I've boiled any glass; glass doesn't hold odors as plastic does, so soapy water is usually enough. With the plastic tanks... I let the metal parts boil for about 10 minutes, and right at the end, I put the plastic tank in for a minute or two, so the boiling water won't melt or deform it.

Every 3-4 days: Wake up, take out two mugs, go to my keurig machine have a coffee and a vape, after coffee fill the second mug with just hot water from the keurig take the seals off and stick my tank in the mug of hot water, hop in the shower while it's soaking, get out of the shower, start my second cup of coffee, stir the vape mug a bit dump out the water and pour in some distilled water and my seals to rinse it, dry it off with paper towel, I don't really mind if there's a few drops of distilled water so I don't try very hard to dry. Fill my tank up and have a coffee and a vape, then brush my teeth :D

Tank stays impeccable.

I only have one tank available to me right now, and it is due for a cleaning. Everything I have ever tried/read about involves soaking for hours/overnight except for a swipe with a paper towel.

I do have a RDA, but that isn't feasible for commuting.

Is there a decent method for quick cleaning/drying that will keep me from being out of commission for a long time?

Any of the above suggestions from other members for the TANK.

The long soaks are for the coil/head, although for those I generally just clean under hot running water, dry, dry burn and rewick (unless silica wick, that can dry burn well.)

You don't say what tank, so hard to be more specific... but if you use one with premade coils, just get some spares (you do need them!!), clean and dry the tank and pop in a new coil.

Hot water, dont clean with anything you wouldn't ingest.
Last time i soaked, ended up with rusty post screws..

Ahmmm............... it is Soak and DRY. anything that can rust will rust if left to dry on its own.
Also..........SS should not Rust. maybe someones stuff needs investigating.

* 3 years, lots of HOT water rinses, UC cleanings in Water with Orange cleaner(mild acid) and No Rust:)

I had a bad experience with hot water..took apart my kabuki and placed in a bowl of hot water to soak...cracked my glass. This was hot water that came from the faucet...nothing i preheated through boiling or microwave. Thankfully i had a spare on hand.

Only is the Glass was very cold or had an unseen stress fracture.
Even boiling water should not hurt glass, it is only 212 degrees.
Boiling or extremely hot water can deform some plastic tanks/drip tips.

Here's a question: is there any way of safely de-rusting those screws? Because I also had a set get rusty, which made me very glad that there were extras included with the Achilles, but I saved the rusty ones, hoping I might be able to get the rust off them somehow. I know how to de-rust blades and other metals, but the screws are so tiny, I really have no clue how to go about it.

Well I'm thinking the same way you clean it when you fist receive it to clean the machine oil off, you did clean it before using it ?

Best to get the dimensions and purchase a small pack of SS screws. Cheap and much more reliable. Many non ss also strip easily.

_____________________________

Using less than SS and getting Rust is by choice, not hot water. They will eventually rust no matter how they are cleaned.
Rust is a Metal to Oxygen reaction.(oxidation)

It would be great to find some titanium screws of this size, to go in my titanium Achilles. :D I don't think titanium rusts, does it? Not that I really think I could find any; just a "wouldn't it be nice..." kinda thought. :D
