Hi All...hope everyone is having a good Tuesday!!
I'm finally on a work roll again. This whole "working while the sun shines" stuff just doesn't work for me. Tooo many distractions out that window. Problem is ...I can't sleep today because...it's VapeMail Day!! That magical day when the person with the big red bag marches up the sidewalks, leaving special packages in the mailboxes of all the good little vapers.......OK..so maybe I really need to sleep....
My attention was finally drawn away from the window this morning when I began to read
through the sheaf of papers I've been avoiding on my desk. They are from a World War II vet...reminiscing about his experiences during the war....brief yet vivid recollections. One of the stories related the time when he was taken aside and asked by his superior if he had ever ridden a motorcycle. He said yes even though he hadn't. He was reassigned (temporarily) to deliver the mail. He then recounts a harrowing, hilarious tale of trying to navigate through not only the countryside, but battle lines, depots and black marketeers.
He writes that it was always a good feeling at the end of a run knowing that he had delivered mail from home to many homesick soldiers.
Just thought I'd share that with you.......
