LouP: I know! I had time on my hands and have been watching too many of the "Buying Alaska" tv shows. I saw your post and was thinking about me complaining of how cold the house was in the morning (And me with a Tulikivi fireplace and in floor heating)...started thinking about having to rely on outdoor outhouses and had to google to see what creature comforts were available!! THat sort of living takes a "Real" man/woman!!!

Thanks for the insight as always, Kitty! Youre awesome! As far as Kitty Jr. goes, Im in the same boat. My furry son Zouki is sick with something that he got from his brother. His brother recovered quickly, but Zouki is dealing with a runny nose and a bad cough. Hes super cuddly right now, though. So I've just been devoting my attention to him.

Awww, Mav, I hope Zouki turns around quickly! I told LouP that I'm typing with my arms curved around kitty jr to reach the keyboard! What would we do without our furbabies?

Angiebubs, I agree...there is no way I could hack it...I am super impressed with our LouP's girl power!

Happy Thanksgiving Eve! Brrrr, it's cold...I actually saw some snowflakes around noon!

I think kitty jr is just fine. He's back to eating normally which is a relief. I'm a helicopter kitty mom. He does not like the cold and this may be the reason he loves me so much all of a sudden. "Yes, kitty jr, I love you too but xalknowe40 yeah, that."

I've been up and down all day baking cookies and a cherry cream cheese cobbler. Tomorrow will be sweet potato pie and pumpkin pie but not from scratch. I think Mrs. Smith does a fine job. She also makes a good coconut cream pie. OK so I cheated a lot this year with shortcuts.

I hope you all are staying warm, and healthy, and finding happy moments...for those who might be finding it to be a tough time...(((((hugs)))))

Happy Thanksgiving to all...I'm looking forward so spending time with the grandkids. Mom wanted to cook the feast again this year and it didn't take much for her to talk us into it. We're going to enjoy that as long as she is able to do it..then we'll take over and all will suffer I just don't think I could handle the outhouse no matter how beautiful the scenery is

ME EITHER, IowaGal! I've had to use one or two in my childhood and it is not among my treasured memories. But I have the utmost admiration for LouP...I could never do what she's doing. Maybe when I was in my romantic 20s. Shoot, I groan "my knees! my knees!" just getting up off the couch. And when you get all four of us sisters in the same room, well, prepare to be delighted by the strains of the Groan Chorus. Hey, maybe we should take this show on the road.

Have fun with the grands, IG...I'm looking forward to fun with the great-nieces! And Turkey (thigh, please)! And stuffing! and mashed potatoes! and gravy all over EVERYTHING except the pies.

Happy Black Friday, anyone?

No, not me, huh uh, no way. I am just awakening from my food coma...but, I have leftovers!

Mav, I hope your furbaby is feeling better? kitty jr has been eating like a champ, but now his meow is broken. It's like he's hoarse. He still meows, it's just low and gravelly. He's curled up next to me on "his" side of the couch.

Good evening! How has everyone recovered from the holiday? My family had an exceptionally good time this year...probably one of the best in several years. Most everyone seemed to be in a good mood and it was very relaxed.

I stewed the turkey "remains" for hours (you would not believe how much delectable hidden meat there is in turkey carcass) and then made a turkey, white bean, and kale soup. Mmmmmmm. Even sister gave it a huge thumbs up.

I hope you all are enjoying your weekend! Did you get your BLACKFRIDAY13 order in yet?

I'm glad to hear good things about Thanksgiving dinners. Kitty...that soup sounds delicious! Also glad to hear the various furbabies are recovering satisfactorily...except for one. Hope that one is better soon..

I have wood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dry, beautiful, burnable wood! We will survive the winter after all! It was -28 the other night...what's that in US speak? Must be around zero...in November!! Agckh!! However, today and the next few at least, it will be around zero (32US)...nearly beach blanket balmy.
My tapatalk does not wish to acknowledge me. I must have done something to offend it... I will bake some muffins for it tomorrow ...
Are any of you familiar with Gordon Lightfoot (singer/songwriter)? I had a major crush on him in my younger days and it seems he's sent a look-a-like in to woo me at work. Three times this week! Now.... I have to wear the most unflattering uniform to sling the iconic Canadian coffee. I never did find the moving box that held any of my more feminine support items (mascara, lipstick, lace etc.). Why does he keep coming back?! There is no mystery here. Be gone. At least until I can buy a new pair of eyebrow pluckers...

I'm glad to see everyone had a great holiday! We spent the whole day in our jammies cooking and eating food.
Kittypie We must live right near each other because that sweet old Mrs. Smith made pies for me too I hope you enjoyed the snowflakes, I totally missed them somehow and I'm glad I did. Glad to hear your kitty is feeling better. And all the other kitties who are feeling better too.

LouP do you mind if I ask why you are out in the cold in a cabin without heat or plumbing? Is it for a job? Maybe a midlife crisis? Are you finding yourself? Or trying not to be found? If you don't want to say that's fine I just have all these crazy thoughts running through my mind every time I see your posts. I'm glad you found some firewood

OMGawsh...I was writing to post here last night and I FELL ASLEEP while I was typing! LOL I think I slept from 6:00 last night until 6:30 this morning!

LouP, I was writing how much I loved Gordon as a teenager...introduced to me by dad! I can still sing along with every song on Gord's Gold.

kitty jr's meow is still broken...it's more like a croak. He seems to feel fine and he's eating well...he refused to come inside this morning after I chased him all over the yard. It's going up to 59 today, so I left the front window cracked enough so he can go in and out as he pleases today.

Mav, is sister kitty better now?

Yes, Meme, gotta love our Mrs. Smith...her pies were the first to go for dessert!

Sister kitty is almost better. My Furbaby and sister kitty still have mild sneezes. Brother kitty doesnt, though. He is lucky.

4 inches of snow last night and estimating 6-12 more before morning! Worked from home today, may be tomorrow as well! Last week still had bare ground-what a change! And tomorrow temps are to drop to 8 degrees as a high!

Whoa, AngieBubs, my teeth are chattering just thinking about that cold! I sometimes lament that I miss the snowy winters of northern Illinois but that was way back when I was young and robust. The freshly fallen snow is so pretty but it gets dirty looking pretty quickly. Are you still loving your Hummingbird Fuel or have you vaped it all up?

Mav, is it possible Furbaby and sister kitty have allergies or did they just had/have a little upper respiratory "cold"? Hoping all is improving! kitty jr's meow is probably 75% better...At least I can hear him when he meows at the window.

I had to place a panic order today...I thought I had another bottle of Cremmmmmmme Carammmmmmmel steeping but nope! We have a bazillion orders in the queue from the sale (yay! thank you!) so I will have to switch to my well-steeped Double Espresso. Oh gee, big sacrifice.

Speaking of a bazillion orders, we beg for extra patience while we work hard to get your orders fulfilled as quickly as we can without compromising quality.
