Was able to get out for a walk/run with my new shoes. My endurance is getting better in swimming but is a big fat Zero for running.
I was just starting to improve in my running before my over enthusiastic bike traing hurt my ankle. Now I am back to square one. Did 1 mile of 5 min. walks alternating with 1 min. runs; then 1 mile of 1 min. walks alternating with 1 min. runs. This is going to be a lot of work to get to 3.1 miles of running.
Monday I will start biking easy and then start building bike miles again.
Lesson learned: Over 50 - Easy Does It Is the only way to go.

Ugh! Friday night my closest neighbor's house was broken into. Fortunately no one was hurt as they weren't home but there's no doubt the burglers are still in the neighborhood and likely still watching my house. I'm a pretty tough gal, but this has all definitely got me rattled! Working overtime this weekend to try to get my house wired with alarms.

Anyone know a rottweiler up for adoption?!?

Oh Annette, I am so sorry this has still been affecting you!! :( I hope you get your alarm system up and working, so you can at least have some sort of protection. Sorry to nhear about your neighbors too...do the police have any idea who may be doing this, any leads or anything? No matter how remote you are, you would think they would up the patrol's in the area since this is happening so often out there!!!!!!:glare:

Annette - there are a couple of Rottweiler Rescue Organizations in Northern CA. Nothing super close to you but are within a couple of hours. Both are in the Yolo/Solano County areas:

I also did a search for rottweilers on Petfinder.com for your area. There are some dogs in Lake and Mendocino county shelters that might fit what you are looking for:

Back home from today's exercise adventure, icing my ankle and enjoying some Kona Velvet Milkshake.

After my swim lesson I did a 400 meter Front Crawl, into a quick shower and change. Pulled my bike out of my van and went for any easy 40 minute ride on the bike trails by the community center. The trails wrap around a little lake and pass over small rivers, and I only got lost twice (kind of like a spider web of trails). Threw my bike back In the van and took a 30 minute walk.
My first itty, bitty mini triathalon practice :)
