Sorry Kitty and all, It's just been grumpy, grouchy, nasty and growly around here lately so I thought it best to keep my fingers off the keyboard! When they are more inclined to spread sunshine again I will set them free!
A good day to all!

Yes, I understand. Sometimes it is the best thing to retreat to one's basement when the nasty growlies have a hold on ya! Well, I'll be thinking of you and hope you feel better soon!

Sorry I am trying to figure out if this is normal or not. I opened my bottle of Death by Chocolate and left it on the table last night. When I woke up, this was in its place!

I love that, ty! Sometimes I have a harder time getting up on Tuesday than on Monday.

kitty jr is well on his way back to his old self. He wanted to play fetch last night, and this morning right on cue he awakened me at 4:30 A.M., attacking my feet. One of these days he'll get the message of my spray-mister. I used to hug a pillow while I slept, now I fall asleep clutching my spray-mister. :)

Morning all.

And Tika says thank you and she wants to be the official mascot when she grows up! She's very appreciative that she doesn't smell tobacco from me anymore. When I smoked analogs, I stopped smoking them inside when I moved and before she was born, but she notices the difference on me!

And Kitty I use the spray bottle too, but it ain't on "mist" it's on "steady stream" so I can intervene in shennanigans @ long range when they happen!

I did that with my last tabby, Grendel, and he was such a knucklehead. He would just sit there and stare at me as I squirted away, and of course then I felt terrible for doing it. So this time (for now) I'm sticking with the spray-mist. FOR NOW.

I used to feel bad too, but then I remind myself it is only water and is a far better alternative to other disciplinary stuff like electric collars or hitting an animal like some people do. As you know they need boundaries, and a spritz of water can immediately discourage unwanted behavior or break up a fight between multiple animals in seconds. When my dogs go at it they scatter in the wind after 1 spray lol. Which is so much better than watching them potentially injure each other or myself if I get in there. Now, when they even see me reach for the spray they scurry away and the fight is over before it began.

Anyways! I live near a dangerous road for dogs so I tend to foster strays that I see there just waiting to be hit, and try to find them a new home. I rescued this one dog last year who was nuts. She was a beautiful yellow lab but like, hyper-insane. I would spray her with the water when attempting to train her and she would try catch it in the air to drink it or just start flipping around as if it was all a big game. She once leapt on me and took the sprayer from my hand and it took me 30 mins to get it back. Just another game to her. I couldn't help but laugh. She was awesome, but a handful and clearly liked water. Which is maybe why she was abandoned to begin with - people unwilling to put in the work.

Good evening All,

The skies have cleared (quite literally) so I went in search of good cheer. As the streets dried the masses emerged and the street people took up their places outside various stores. The summer heat has been especially hard on them and donations have not been easy to come by. I saw one of the regulars outside the dollar store and thought I'd pick her up a tin of her favourite pasta. Something came over me and I left the store with a dozen tins of chef boyardee. As I gave her the tin her face just lit up and people nearby took notice. Before we knew it someone had donated a watermelon, someone else a bag of cookies followed by crackers, cheese slices and then, to top it off, someone ran into the store and came out with plastic spoons, napkins and a little knife! An impromptu feast right there on the sidewalk! It was quite a gathering.

I'm a happy Lou once again!:)

Hope everyone out there is feelin' some happy too!

That makes me want to cry, LouP. Very touching on many levels. I'm glad you've come up from the basement! :)

Good morning, VVers! Hey ty, for us clock-watchers, the week is halfway over! And even here in the steamy South, I'm starting to get little hints of fall in the air and I can't tell you how happy that makes me!
