Happy Sunday Morning All!

My my...everyone is soo sleepy...

Well...I'm going to shake off my desire to crawl back to bed and head to the animal shelter to do a little volunteering. I am hoping to get to dog-walk rather than clean but....somebody's got to do it. The plan is really to satisfy my need for furry affection without bringing it home. Eh...piece of cake...or ..a walk in the park.:D

Rest up everyone and enjoy your Sunday! :)

See now that would be a problem........I'd want to take them all home!!!

And I slept well and I'm pretty rested..........please don't hate me.

What a nice thing to do Loupy. My local is a kill-shelter and they dont allow anyone to volunteer anymore. I even showed up despite this, thinking they wouldnt turn me away and they ran me off, lol. It is run by cops rather than humane volunteers. They're nice cops but they are bound by regulations and low funding.

There is a nonprofit no-kill shelter about 1 and 1/2 hr away but it is difficult to get to on a whim. I visit there whenever I can and sometimes I just call them to complain about the satus quo and what needs to change in my city. My local one is basically death row for the poor animals. I blame people, and irresponsible animal-owners first and foremost. Then the city with its lack of empathy and thought. They have both the motivation and money to vote for and build a new swimming pool here while their dogs are periodically put in a gas-chamber. I guess while they are busy working on their backstroke ignorance truly is bliss.

I regularly rescue strays I see on this road, but its becoming harder and harder to find them new homes. People either don't want a dog that is not purebreed or, they end up being horrible owners. In the short time I get to perform an impromptu interview I gotta make up my mind as to whether I trust this person or not while being casual enough that I don't make them have second thoughts about adopting to begin with.

There's this AMAZING documentary airing on HBO now called "One Nation Under Dog". You have to watch it, it's so good. Deals with many of the harsh realities with shelters and dog pounds but is also quite touching. It airs periodically, I am sure if you look for it on your TV guide you will find a showing soon. Seriously, it is a powerful movie to see, based on a book that became quite popular.

Anyways I am off to the flea market then I gotta work for a few hours! Headache slowly receeding, talk to you guys later!

I just wanted to say that I ordered a sample of the caramel, and it was Amazing ! The best I have tried. Great juice !

Mike, I've been vaping for two years (come April) and I was so turned off of caramel flavored vapes, I never even tried ours. That is until recently...and I agree...OMG! It's so smooth and creamy and sweet...and I love mixing it with other flavors. YUM! :)

My goal for this year is to talk Annette into perfecting us a "Turtle Haze"...caramel, chocolate, and hazelnut...you know, like a turtle candy with hazelnuts. SUPER yum! :)

I love that so many of us have hearts for animals. To me, it speaks volumes of one's character to reach out to protect and help the most vulnerable members of the community...little kids and animals. Rock on, you animal lovers!

Oh jj...I am sorry about your Buddie. It's been about three months since I lost Old Man the Cat. Unbelievably hard....but you're right. I smile more now when I think about him!

We have baby bear ladders (and raccoon) at the dump too. We once watched a pair of cubs scramble out while their mom howled at them. She even cuffed their ears as they were all ambling away.

Kitkat...I did my part. Absolutely no grocery shopping for me today. :)

Now I am almost out of books to read. Forced bedrest is a good way to catch up on one's reading. Anyone have any suggestions for good reads?
