Good News for Newbs! Or: How I learned to stop worrying and love the eGo T.

Thanks for the info! I've been wanting to get one since they first came out. It's the convenience of the whole tank system that I like. One quick glance and you know how full your tank it is. With carts, it's always a guessing game. A lot of times I end up overfilling them a little and waisting the few drops that leak out, and those few drops here and there add up! Plus having to constantly clean the carts is getting to be a bit of a pain too. I understand with the tank system, just a quick rinse and the tank is ready to be refilled. The only real cleaning is of the atomizer every so often. Much simpler and far less time consuming.
Unfortunately, my vape budget got raided by an unexpected car issue 2 weeks ago, so I've had to put the purchase on hold, for now. But I fully intend to get one ASAP! I'm hoping that as soon as maybe 2-3 weeks from now I'll be able to get mine too. :vapor:

Here's an intro me and a sort of review on the eGo T....
Hello Spiralus, joining ECF is the most sound decision a vaper can do :) Loads of info in here....

And "..a sort of.." review??...... A <#%&@> good review, I'd say. You really add to the "knowledge base" for the newcomers.

Vape on :)

When u put tank in unit it puctures it....... so if u change flavors with new tank before it is empty does it leak all over?
No, you just take out the 1st tank, apply the rubber cap to the removed tank cartridge, and place the 2nd tank cap in the atty, a.s.o. Juice will never "spill all over" unless you run the tank over with another tank (-or a hummer). ;o)

I have tried to stop smoking numerous times over the years and decided to do research on the e-cigarettes, I'm so confused with all I'm reading and don't know where to start, 510 vrs ego are main ones I'm seeing. I smoke about packs a day (heavy smoker), Menthol cigarettes, Could I get more info please, do I buy a starter kit? and will that come with a charger? Best websites to buy?Help, I really want to try this to stop smoking.

I would suggest starting here. It requires a bit of patience, but it's well worth the time. Should answer all your newb questions.

I agree. I have had my eye on e-cigs for a few years, but never liked the whole process. With my job, i can't stop and add a few drops here and there, or run to the truck for new batteries, etc. about two weeks ago I came here and saw a few reviews on the ego-t and thought that was pretty much what I was looking for. So I ordered one, and can honestly say it is better than I had hoped. I ordered the 1000mah batteries and they last a good day and a half, the tanks are easy to fill and easy to swap out when I need to, really nothing negative right now that I can think of.

I was working in my shop the other day and had dirty hands so I wrapped a paper towel around the ego so I wouldn't get it dirty. Well, once it kinda slipped and fell out of my hand, as a reflex, I kicked my foot out to catch it, and ended up giving it the boot. It flew about 20 feet and landed hard on the concrete, but when I picked it up and tried it, it worked just fine.

Anyway, I just ordered a kit last night for my wife, (same one) and hopefully she likes it as much as I do. I haven't fully quit analogs yet since I have a pack or two left from a carton, but I have gone from 25+ a day, to 2 or 3. Once those packs are gone, I plan on being analog free forever.

Question

I have been reading a lot on how to clean ( resurrect ) an atomizer and I am starting to wonder if it even applies to the Ego-T

With the puncture device and wick at the tank side of the atomizer.... can you even see the atomizer? Can it be blown out... cleaned etc?

I did blow mine out for the first time last night. It seemed to me the vapor production was sightly less than when I first started using it. I blew from the battery side into a paper towel and there was quite a bit of juice that came out. I put the tank back on, took a drag without pushing the button, let it sit for a minute and I was back in business.

I too think that the Ego-t is truley amazing. I'm on my 4th month of vaping with no anolog's!!!! This is my 3rd PV and by far the easiest to use. Fill the tank and your good for hours. Received mine on Saterday and love it! It's not expencive, easy to fill, you always know what you have left for juice, does not leak and #1- not a drop of juice in your mouth. I LOVE IT!!!

to Phreaker:
Yup, I had the same experience last night. It seems, that with heavy vaping, juice can ... "harden" in the atomizer and along the vents in the sides. Some good head (blowing) cleared the issue right up.

Also note:
Extra tanks are NOT neccessary right away UNLESS you like multiple flavors. It seems to me that, unlike cartridges, the tank wont break down for a LONG time, probably the life of the atomizer. I wish I didn't waste the money on the extras now (I just let my yummy juices mix around and stick to ones that all taste good together- east coast tobacco, hazelnut, pistachio.)
There's just nothing about them to break.... other than the tight seal, which will degrade with bumping, but slowly, as in slower than the atty. Also.... the part you bite... which bring up... ceramic mouthpieces for these please! And screw on caps, like calligraphy pens have!

Thanks everyone for your awesome responses, I hope you enjoy your tank as much as I do! Good designs are so fun. Humans are neat.
So... good news there!

A 120ml!? dang.. that is a lot, isn't it? And by steeping.. I am presuming that you mean "To let age?" Pure cig also sounds great.. which is the reason I bought the WE.. but I am guessing by your comment that it isn't a tobacco flavor. I have a couple of juices coming with my kit, so I might hold off on the Purecig for now. However, I thank you for your thoughts and you looking out for my best interests! I'll be sure to use the sticky note "2 of 2" comment next time too. Very helpful for a newb. You are far too kind.

Yes, 120ml. is a lot. (I bought the 120ml bottle when FSUSA was having another one of their great big bottle sales). And both WE and Pure Cig are tobacco flavors. It's hard to explain. Some "tobacco" flavors are made up of rich ingredients (caramel, vanilla, etc. with lots of undertones, and overtones---like WE.) Others are "cleaner"...not that many flavors in the mix. IMHO, the more flavors that go into the mix, the more a juice will need to "steep", "age", or "sit" for the flavors to "marry" and come out for you to get the maximum effect. Smaller bottles "age" faster than large bottles as a rule. Pure Cig is one of those "cleaner" flavors that doesn't need to sit for a while before you will taste what it's intended to be--a straight, no-nonsense "smoking" experience. But that doesn't mean that you should stop trying other tobacco flavors in the meantime. If,when you have the funds and they have another big bottle sale, you could get 120ml (or even 60ml) of Pure Cig from them, then you'd be able to buy smaller bottles of juices that need to steep and they'd have enough time to age. It takes at least a couple of months before you can get enough juices in your "storage" to be able to make juice purchases that you can have the option of letting them "steep" for maximum flavor. I think that David is supposed to come out with "Gold Label" juices that will be "pre-steeped" for those who don't have the luxury of waiting for juices to be ready. I'm excited about that one!

So basically... you are blowing it out... through the wick... do I have that right?

From the Batty end... but the stuff out through the wick

Yeah, the opposite of what I do with my standard 510 atomizer basically. I thought it might be hard to clean the battery end of the eGo-T conamizer so I blew it out from that end. I am not sure that is the "proper" way, but that is what I did.

Got mine last friday, it is ammmmaaaazing!

I love it!

BTW to the OP, you said something about hard to fill through the little hole, well that's because you aren't really supposed to fill it through there, the whole top cap pops off with your fingernail!

I am blown away by this thing, it is so consistent, same vapor and flavor from first puff to empty tank!
