Well I'm back from the MoBo failure. I put a 2 TB in it after the 1TB. crashed. I ubdated the USB to 3.0, Maxed out the memory, all that and some other goodies within the last yr. Then I put in a new graphics card and 8hrs. later my mobo took a dump so I said phooey and bought a new one. That's why I haven't been around much the last few days. I do love new toys though. Now I can get back to what I love most. BTW stay clear of 4 All Memory. That place is a rip off.

That sucks about the MoBo that happened to my friend recently. Reseating the CPU and heatsink can be a little annoying with that thermal paste.

If you like PC toys, you should check out SSDs if you are into any gaming, or just want faster loading times all around. I just installed a 128GB SSD (crucial m4) and am blown away by the performance. Shogun 2 used to take about 30 seconds to load a map, now it takes about 10!

Oh PCs, the never ending upgrading process.

I was going to build a big water cooled a couple yrs ago but it would of been just cause I'm always into them but don't need it. I want an SSD but I'm waiting for the price to come down. I'm one of those poor boys.

I'm not overclocking mine either. I don't use it for anything but the web and playing around with Photoshop. That's what got me messing with the graphics card is the one I had wouldn't run Repousse. The card thats in this one has an overclock option in the program but I'm still probably going to upgrade the graphics. This one will do Repousse though so no0 hurry.

I have an SSD for my read drive for OS and that's about it. Win7 64bit boots faster than it takes me to take a full hit off my PV... feeling upgrade-itis though. But I don't have much of an upgrade path right now. Maybe I should just build a new rig for the hell of it.

Current:
Win7 64bit
Asus Sabertooth x58
12gb Corsair Vengeance ram
Intel Core i7 930 clocked at 4.0ghz
Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 (GPU @ 900mhz, RAM @ 1300mhz)
20gb SSD Read Drive
150gb Apps/Games Drive
2TB [Raid 10] NAS (Synology DS411slim) - Isaac calls this the magical black box... rofl
... i don't remember the rest. Air cooled, too, idle temps at 34c load temps at 56c.

I never push the system, really. Only games I play are CS:S and APB:Reloaded which aren't all that taxing. I might start folding again, who knows.

Edit: Pics just for Isaac, since he's apparently in love with it.

Stop buying up all those fusions and you should have enough $$$$ to buy two

That is saweet loft. Mine is just an off the shelf that I stuck the 2TB. in. because I had it and a have a graphics card update as soon as I buy a bigger PS. It's rated high enough but just to catch the minimum wattage and I want it to have enough. Then I'm looking at an SSD. Nothing like that one though. I had Windows 7 ultimate but this one came with the 64bt home premium so I gave my 64bt Windows 7 ultimate to my SIL so he could get Vista off his laptop.

I could easily begin to have a dislike for computers. That's all I've been doing for the past week is setting up computers. My SIL's, Mine, and now my daughters. The good part is I'm really enjoying Windows 8 now.

So am I loft. I wish I had a magical black box too but at least I got rid of the black hole I had.
