Sigh I think I am about to say goodbye to a good friend :( My 901 atty is starting to make signs it might be leaving me very soon.

No big deal you think? This atty, if it makes it 2 more days, will have been in use every single day for 6 months! Its not the only one I use in a day, I revolve several different PV's all day long, but it saw its first use March 3rd and has been used for at least an hour or two, or more, every single day since. I will be very sad to see it go. I think I might even give it a small service in the back yard it has been such a faithful soul.

Still, I do have its sister which was purchased the same day :D Came in the same package, and is still going strong, also having been in use every day since March 3rd.

Wouldn't it be great if they were all like that?

Damn.. I gotta ask you a few questions now cause I am interested in getting a few 901 atomizers. How many MLs do you vape on the average day? Do you use it on a mod, and if so which mod? Last question, do you remember where you got it?

I've only had my 901 for just over two weeks. Haven't had time to purchase another atomizer or spare batteries yet. Well, yesterday at work, my 901 fell out of my pocket sometime during the last five minutes of work... On my way out to my vehicle I searched my pocket for it and it was no where to be found. I retraced my steps and found it on the pavement... crushed! The battery was destroyed, but the atomizer looked like it still might work. I tried it on my other battery and it did still work, but after a few puffs, I started getting a very prominent burning flavor. Something inside the atomizer was burning. So all that I have left is one battery and it's charger. I ordered 2 more atty's and two more batteries when I got home. Only bad thing is that now I'm without a pv until then and I refuse to go back to analogs :(

The average expected life span of an atty is about 6 weeks, which means some will not last that long, while others will last significantly longer...I do think that 6 months though is a fair bit longer than anyone has any right to expect.

I do rotate devices all through the day, which helps not to overheat or overuse any single atty. I guess if you figure 6 weeks to be average, then you can work out from that how many you might want to have at any given time.

On another thread, there was a lengthy discussion about cleaning dying or dead attys and having them subsequently return to life. Most frequently reported method preceding revival was boiling them for 5 minutes in plain water, letting them dry a while, then putting several drops of eliquid directly on the atty, giving it a few minutes to soak in, and then... voila! Resurrection. If that doesn't work, my condolences on your loss.

How many MLs do you vape on the average day?
3-5 depending on what kind of day and how long it is. For example its 2am now, I am still working and I started before 9am..this WILL be at least a 5ml day!

Do you use it on a mod,
Yes
and if so which mod?

Last question, do you remember where you got it?
Lol Oh yes I do, and it will not help much. I got it from a Canadian site which has since disappeared, and the atties were the ONLY thing that worked in the entire package. The batts AND the charger were DOA..and he never made good on them either. Still it was just a standard mini,(well a two pack actually) nothing special at all.

Very much the luck of the draw, although I have to say that in general for me the 901 atty has been the gold standard even although I really like the 801, but they have never lasted as long. I am sure other people will have different experiences though.

Cool, thanks for the answers. I've been itching to try out the 901 atomizers since I started. I love my 510 and KRD808d-1.. But feel the need to try more

Now I just need to get my wife's permission.

Well I only use 'one' atty at a time for 17 hours a day....so the atty I am using now has lasted me for 561 hrs. If my maths is right wouldn't that equal about 18 months if I only used it for one hour a day??

Yes Dear Heart it would..but my maths are out to lunch and I think I am kidding myself when I said an hour a day! Lol Its been a very long day.. and sleep is calling my name.. Perhaps it would be more accurate if I simply said that my 801 which gets just a little less use rotating around during the same time frame, has gone through 4 attys.

Well, they say you'll know when it's time to put them down and if there's no quality of life.... Nuff said. How about recycling these dead and dying parts? Surely there must be a few of those forum members who are always kindly sharing with us their latest experiments in ripping, cutting, wiring, soldering, hammering, and generally deconstructing and reconstructing ecig parts into some new amazing creation who would be interested in collecting our relics to play with... anybody? I'd rather mail 'em than trash 'em. I can see the headlines now: "ECIG COMMUNITY GOES GREEN!"
