Just wanted to say goodbye to those who were nice to me when I first joined and helped me with information regarding hardware and liquid.

Over the past couple of days though I found that a lot of the ex-smokers have become smokers haters and I can't identity with that.

Some said that they tried smoking a cigarette after X amount of days and that they were disgusted with the taste and smell. I got so curious I wanted to try it for myself.
I had been smoke free for 6 days, without any cravings whatsoever, but because of all this blah blah blah about smoking I wanted to put the cigarette to the test. So I lit up and ... it smelled and tasted pretty darn good.

Some complain about yellow teeth and an ashtray mouth. I'll have you know that my teeth are perfectly white, without whitening stuff or anything. If you don't like my ashtray mouth, put up with it or take a hike.

I don't like non-smokers because they're forever badmouthing smokers. I don't socialize with them and I certainly don't date them. Now I found that ex-smokers do the same.
I don't plan on going back to smoking, because I enjoy vaping, but I will never turn into one of those people who bad mouths a smoker.

A special fond goodbye to Bornagainst, Domino and Happy Vapor.

I still am a smoker (my Joye 510 literally just arrived minutes ago) and the smoker "bad mouthing" does not and never has bothered me. Why? Because it is absolutely true. Don't get me wrong, I really don't care to hear from someone telling me, "You're .......ing stupid! Anyone who smokes is a .....!" I've not seen any of that in my short time here.

That said, comments about bad breath, stinky ashtrays, not kissing a smoker, etc. from non/ex-smokers are totally justified. I would never fault a non-smoking woman for refusing to date/kiss/boink me because I smoke. I'm sure I would not want to either.

But, I can also understand not wanting to subject yourself to so much discussion about it. I would not want to hang out at a smokers anonymous meeting as a smoker and listen to them yap about how much I stink and they don't, even if they were correct.

well! yes, i have seen many a post where smoking analogs has been bad mouthed. but the only reason for this is because vaping is so damned good, that those who no longer smoke, simply don't like it anymore. to me, this is a very reasonable opinion these particular people have! they no longer like the taste & smell, and find analogs disgusting. this is their choice to feel this way.

i do however, have to say that i have not yet come across one comment from someone who has quit the analogs bagging another who hasn't. i have always found those particular people to be nothing but supportive and helpful.

if you choose to leave because you don't like analogs being bagged, that's your choice. just as it is the choice of non smokers to bag said analogs!!!! but don't say you are leaving because ex smokers are bagging those who still choose to.

for the record: yep, i still have a few analogs each day, and i'm yet to find anyone here bag me for it!!!

SAYONARA!!!!

Hmm ok I must say I have seen a couple of anti smokers but the majority of people here, like msyelf, remember all too well what it was (and can be) like to be marginalised over smoking.
I always tell people - vape the way you want if that includes a couple of cigs then so be it. Everyone is different and needs to find their own 'best way' to do things.
I wish you luck though with wahtever you decide to do - be it stay or go :)

I am sorry you had a bad experience.

As with many forums, you sometimes have to take the good with the bad.

It took my many months before I was totally not wanting an analog, and I still can be around them and not get all biatchy about it.

I too am not very amiable around non-smoking nazis, but I do understand how some vapers are so high on the idea that they can give some of that grief back now.

I try not to do that, I live with a hubby who is still smoking, and since I sat right beside him, laid right beside him, rode right beside him, both of us smoking up a storm for over 35 years, I am NOT going to give him grief about it.

I do hope you will forgive those who in some way offended you and take in stride, but above all, stay connected even only to read about new devices, new flavors, follow the technology as it advances.

And keep vaping, happy times to you and best wishes.

Interesting Chanel.

Last year when I originally quit smoking, and started vaping. I had quit immediately. I know that this is not common, but it does happen.
Anyways, 4 days later I had an especially busy day. And both of my batteries needed recharging. My husband was all upset, and said that 1 cigarette wouldnt make a difference, and I broke down and agreed. I took 2 drags, and had to put it out. It not only tasted awful, but it hurt my chest to even take the smoke in.

Just because burning paper, chemicals, and tobacco taste good to you, doesnt mean that it does to others. I dont hate on smokers. I was one. But rather I hate on people who are so set in killing themselves, and others that it makes no sense to me.

Homeish now
Part of it is that for most of us vaping really worked for....and we are really excited about that. The other part is once "we" realized we didnt need the cig's that we had something better..it's hard to understand why folks would not want the same FLOBW Freedom vaping has given us.

But with that said to each there own...the gums, patchs and pills worked for others..vaping worked for me personally.
Find what works for you, or dont either way it's your choice.

Now to the dramatic goodbye...seems kinda silly to leave a form because of a bad brush with a few members. In ANY social outlet there will be fights and clashes..no matter the topic or setting in real life or online.
There are 35,007 registered members in ECF...Surely you didnt expect to get along with all of em.
Personally..I think perhaps you should stay away from the "stop smoking" topic and not worry about whatever posts brought this on.

Honestly I have never heard anyone on these forums bad mouth smokers. BECAUSE WE ALL USED TO BE ONE!!!

If anything we all sympathize with smokers and try to help them throughout their time of need (when they are making the switch).

You are just badmouthing us for not liking the taste of cigarettes anymore...

Sounds to me like someone is craving attention, not cigarettes.
