Got a 510 - should I get an Ego ?

I followed the advice and bought a 510 online and some starting juices and a PCC. My main question is if i chose to buy a ego at some point are the parts interchangeable with the 510. or is it worth it to just buy the mega batteries for the 510 im not sure. I chose to not buy the ego for starters because it doesn't look like a a cigarette and i didn't want to put the money up front first. So basically how interchangeable are the parts and would it be worth it to just buy the mega batteries if i am worried about battery life. Shipping says my 510 will be here tomorrow!!!!!

Yup, the eGo is made to take the 510 attys and carts. And those batteries, even the regular eGo ones, will probably last you most if not all of a day.

An Ego standard battery lasts me 4-5 hours but I vape A LOT lol.

Parts are interchangeable because the eGo IS a 510. An eGo battery will last you a hell of a lot longer than the XL batts. Ego batts last anywhere from 8-12-16-24 hours depending on how you vape

My Ego batteries are great...only problem is they are starting to run down faster and faster as time goes on....Of course I had them since Feb and using LR attys so that is to be expected....Plus I vape a lot....But, compared to my wife's 510 batteries, they are still a lot better in length of time before re-charging....

Hi Zep. If you have a bunch of 510 parts I'd just get a couple eGo batteries, a charger and a cone. If you go to this site eGo Batteries, Cones, Chargers Cases and Accessories it would be about $50.00 for all that stuff. Genuine Joye too if that matters to you. I just bought a Riva which is the same type of thing made by a different company. Seems like a nice unit although I haven't really put it through it's paces yet.

The Hello-016 has a longer lasting battery than the eGo but the thing that kept me from considering it is that I believe the cone is attached to the atty which means that you can't use a standard eGo type cone and 510 carto combo with it. Does anyone know if this is correct?

I started with a standard 510 3 weeks ago and a supplier was having a great 4th July sale on the ego's so I bought one. I like it and other than the charger everything else for both of them is the same. I can even take the atty and cart or cartomizer right off one and pop on the other one. The ego is nice at home for the battery life, and I the reg 510 for going out.

There is an eGo to 510 charger adapter even, yo make it cheaper... the adapter charges the eGo wit a 510 charger. I have 3 of these adapters.

I'm not too sure if you can use the cone with cartos or not, Madvapes picture doesn't show the cone on the carto kit... but I personally think the cone looks ridiculously stupid... the carto kit looks badass

Yeah I'll agree with that. I don't own an eGo, just suggest it because it's a 510 model with a longer lasting battery for beginners. If you start off with a battery mod you'll save so much more money considering the manufacturer isn't putting it's name all over the batteries and making it look "pretty". All you'd need is a body and compatible batteries like 18350/18650/CR123A (for 6 volts) all 3 of those batteries are incredibly cheap. I haven't needed to buy new batteries in 2 months and they're still going stronger than ever, not to mention 18350's at a full charge gives you 4.0-4.2 volts then levels out to 3.7 as you use it... an eGo is only 3.2 volts even though it's advertised as 3.7 (same goes for regular 510's)

I use the ego with cartomizers and the cone fits fine.I really like that I can go out with a fresh batt and a new carto and not worry.Im good for a few hours.Its great.

That's correct Mist. How do you like your Rivas...love mine. Have you seen the new Joye carto...eliminates the cone so no carto/cone problem, looks pretty cool, and supposedly holds 2.5ml...some members trying it so waiting for their review.

Bypass the mega batts for your 510 and just go for the eGo. Before upgrading to the eGo, I was going through 6 freshly charged batts on my 510 everyday.

Or you may consider the Riva at substantially lower cost...completely cross compatible with the eGo, higher capacity battery, better button, nicer looking imo. Bought Rivas to back-up my eGos...but the eGos are now the back-ups. Check out this thread

I think you'll be surprised at the prices. With discounts probably less than you paid for 510/pcc kit. Or you could just buy batts like me...got platinum and black...but you need to buy a charger or adapter. Get a charger, the 510 charger w/adapter is slow...esp the higher capacity Riva batts.

I highly recommend that you do get them As most have said, its the same 510 with an upgraded battery mine have lasted for 2 months and they are consistently running really well just as they have promised!

Mine are nearly 3 mo. old, charging each 1/day & fine. They started to run down faster & I switched atty & right back up (double).

I like the cone & never had a problem w/ the switch.

Nice that you've mentioned the eGo cone. I also purchased a 510 passthrough, and comparing it to the eGo with the cone attachment, i've observed that my drags seem to be more solid with the cone setup and the vapor seems to be slightly warmer.

Is there a good reason behind this?

the cone decreases the airflow through the bottom of the atomizer, and creates a slightly harder draw. I cannot vape my ego's without the cone. It draws too easy, and even tastes different.

There's absolutely no problem w/ the cone when used with an atty/cart.

The cone is problematic when used w/ cartos. Cartos are normally shorter than the atty/cart combo (boge, slb, et al) so only about 1/2" (little less actually) sticks out for you to suck on. Gotta really pucker your lips otherwise you end up blocking the air inlet with your lips.

Some members have drilled holes in their cones, etc. to address this problem. I seldom use the cones anyway because I think it looks cooler without it, so it doesn't bother me.

Probably a reason that JoyeTech's new eGo cartos eliminate the cone...should look it up, gives the eGo a whole new look. Bit pricey tho...some members are trying them so I'm waiting for their reviews. The fact that it holds 2.5ml without using fillers that ALWAYS burn is intriguing to me.

I never had a problem w/ the switch on my eGo's too, but some members have had switches stick on them which destroyed the batt. The feel and the tactile click of the Riva reminds me of the 510, which I like a lot...and because it's lighted looks pretty cool too.
