Had a little time to kill today and stopped off in my local B&M to browse. Ended up walking out with an istick 50W and a Kanger Subtank Mini. Got home and turned it on and put on a Kanger Geni that I had already filled. Holy.......you know what. The istick was cranked up all the way to 50W and I thought the thing was gonna explode...it was sizzling and crackling so much. Turned it down to a more reasonable 14 watts. Haven't gotten around to using the Subtank Mini yet as just opening the box it looks a little initimidating. What is this little pouch of cotton? Do you have to replace the wick yourself?

I have a lot to learn and read up on.

I call that GOOD shopping. Maybe you can share your comparison of the Subtank compared to the Genitank.

I know what I expect, but that's not the same as real world comparisons... after a few days, preferably. :)

The subtank mini should have came with two different types of coils OCC which are square shaped and ready to vape with and a round RBA coil that you need to build in order to use in the tank, thats what the cotton is for. Also the square OCC heads are also easily re-built so keep them in case you want to get into rebuilding in the future. The istick 50 and subtank mini is a fantastic set-up.

Also make sure you put a little juice inside the coil before you put it into your tank to keep the wick from getting burnt, basically pre-priming it.

OK....I don't think I am ready for that yet. I think I'm in a little over my head with that. What other tanks (with replaceable coils) that will work well with the iStick?

I'm using the istick with a nautilus and a nautilus mini. Both work great and the new bvc coils for the nautilus tans are great. Good vapor production and great flavor. A couple of my favorite juices just got better :)

I am currently using a Kanger Geni Mini (the battery says it is 1.7 ohms) and running the battery at 4.8 volts and 14 watts. The juice is Halo Subzero at 24 mg and I definitely notice a difference compared to using the Halo Triton. I am getting a bit more of a "kick". Is this because of a higher absorption of nicotine?

So after using both over the weekend, here are my impressions of the two tanks. The mouthpiece on the Subtank is HUGE. I prefer a tighter draw, so I have both set to the tightest air opening. The draw is still a little loose for my taste, although the Geni seems a bit tighter since it doesn't have any detents in the air adjustment collar, the larger mouthpiece of the Subtank could also affect that as well. I'm using the 1.2 ohm coil rather than the 0.5 ohm in the Subtank. The iStick reports that the coil in the Subtank is 1.3 ohm while the Geni fluctuates between 1.6 and 1.7. Maybe I need to give the Subtank a little more time to get used to. I do love the larger tank since it is much easier to fill without worrying about getting juice into the center post, nor do I have to fill it back up as often. With the one tank, it can last me an entire day now.

Ironically enough, I have compared the Genitank to the Subtank recently. I don't think I like the Kanger dual-coil offering (ugrade over the Pro/Evod 1 head? nah...). I prefer the single coil design of the Subtank factory heads, but I agree with jseah. I do like the draw better on the Genitank. The airflow control of the Genitank sits nicely on front side (above the firing button) of the iStick. The 2-3 hole config makes a nice mouth-lung pull for a former sig smoker.

The RBA option of the Subtank makes it my fave though. Flavor is better... It's a juice gobbler, though.

I have noticed a difference in taste when using the Subtank. I am also currently using a Halo Triton. I lowered my nicotine level by mixing 24 mg Halo Subzero with 6 mg Uncle Junk's Honey Do. The Honey Do is a 30%PG/70%VG blend and I am mixing the two in a 50/50 ratio. When I vape this mixture in the Halo Triton, the honeydew flavor is much more pronounced, with a cool menthol finish and I absolutely love this. However, when I vape this mixture in the Subtank, the menthol flavor is more pronounced with a hint of the honeydew at the end and I'm not sure why.
