So the entire "the atty has to stay upright or leak" thing was really getting on my nerves here lately. I started looking around and it's crazy the price on some of these mod stands. Yes, i could have bought a lipstick stand and been done with it but even then I wanted something made out of wood.
Blocks of good wood are crazy expensive, i never knew that, but I found a website that sold black walnut bowl blanks for $4-6 ea and figured i'd give it a try. All said and done I have $50 in the materials to make three of them.
I haven't decided yet if i'm going to blow three 1 1/6" holes on the inside to sit my mods in or if i'll use another one of the blanks i have and just make another. At this point i'm happy with it and it looks fairly good for me not knowing ... I was doing.
