I can't wait for it to be that common around here! Right now almost everywhere I vape it's ok (never been told stop) but I do grow tired of the stares and even stinkeyes... It's like the elephant in the corner, everyone knows it but noone wants to admit and confront it!

Here in NC, ecigs are NOT incl in smoking ban, in fact, many bars sell the disposable kits like madvapes sells for $10-$15 a pop and everyone joins in :)

And they just fire right up, out of the box? The 510's from Cignot.com do. When I was reading the earlier posts of all these different bar ideas, I was thinking you could just open up a couple and put them on the charger. Whenever someone bought one, trade batteries. Not sure if that's feasible. I bet it would be better in the winter. lol

A few months ago (at wisconsin state fair) I was feeling super stressed and went outside to have a real cig, was plenty far from the door, and a person that walked by (about 10 ft distance) gave me "the glare". I wanted to mouth off to him, but figured best to hold my tongue (especially as stressed as I was -- woulda turned into a huge scene).

I've gotten the "anti-smoking glare" a few times with my ecig, even when using it outdoors (and I use black models with blue light). Usually, though, I get curiousity looks. Was just at huge business reception dinner earlier this evening that was no-smoking and I openly vaped and nobody paid me any mind, not even the top execs (which was very nice).

While my son was in Michigan last month he tried one of his friends egic. He loved it and did vape in the local pub. The owner came over to tell him to stop smoking and he promptly explained that he was not smoking and showed it to him. The owner laughed and said it was fine, however some other patrons, seeing him "smoke" decided to light up too and were not happy when they were told to stop.
He is back home in Florida now and I am sending him one of my old kits next week.
He loves it, I hope he can quit smoking too!

I was actually vaping in my car at a red light with the window open yesterday. A guy in the passenger seat of the car next to me rolled down his window to ask if he could borrow a cigarette. I immediately unscrewed the battery off and said "It's electronic". He looked at me so confused like I just performed magic in front of his face. Light turned green and I drove off laughing.

They will be illegal to use anywhere you cannot use an analog starting in June (thank you Democratic Senator Frank Lautenberg :nah:). Atlantic City, at this time, has areas within the casino where they will allow you to smoke/vape.

Actually, our cruddy govt. made smoking illegal in the casinos about a year ago, but casino business decreased (thus tax collections to the cruddy govt. decreased) so much they rescinded the law for a while.

So, hopefully, you'll still be able to smoke/vape in certain areas of the casinos this summer and they'll still offer smoking rooms.

Ecigs will still be legal to possess if you're not a minor (but I'm sure our cruddy govt. is already working on taking them away from adults too).

Can you tell I don't think much of our govt.?!?!? ;)

And actually, Hay, I think we who have lived during a time when the govt. did not have so much control over the citizens have even more awareness of just how much freedom we have lost.

We've NEVER been allowed to smoke in Casino's here in Ontario. We went to Vegas and it seemed like every other person had a cig in their mouths!! It was GREAT!! (Of course, this was BEFORE I started vaping!).

I use the v3 stick and it can't be mistaken for an analog. Most people are curious and interested in what it is. I still try to use the smoking area when I can, but stealth vape a lot. Then again, even with all the vapor there is no mistaking a SB for an analog so I am safe there. I have seen security rushing over because of it and then stop and look puzzled when they saw that.

I tell you what, this has been fantastic here at work. I just sit here and vape all day long. Brought my charger and a second battery just in case too! I am seriously loving this, so much better than "analogs." (Lol, I still feel like such a tool saying analog and digital cigarettes. :D)

daw..I'd like to suggest that you invest in a Tornado-eGo battery...they last between 10-12 hours, depending on your usage...

I'm so bummed to hear about the E-Cig ban in NJ. Will be visiting there in June and was so looking forward to being able to vape in restaurants there. I can't believe that I'll still have to stand outside---to vape. But how can Lautenberg, who is a Senator, pass a local law like that
Sorry I didn't see this earlier but it's not June yet so to answer your question - I'm not sure but I believe the indoor ban becomes effective 180 days after the law was signed, so we have until the middle of July before we can't vape indoors. (I could be wrong about this.) Besides, if you're in Jersey in June just find some nice restaurants with outdoor tables - it will be too nice to be indoors.

As far as Lautenberg goes, he is THE godfather of Democrats in NJ and a vehement anti-smoking nazi. As soon as he came out against e-cigs, his political followers practically fell over themsevles to do his bidding. NJ is home to most of the major Pharma companies and they contributes TONS of money to get what they want. And what they want right now is for e-cigs to stop cutting into profits. It could have been worse - they could have banned them outright like they are trying to do in other states.

Enjoy your trip.

I am going back to Atlantic City to play some poker In June. Please somebody tell me I can vape in the casino!
I can't say for certain that you can, but the casinos are currently exempt from the state indoor smoking ban although they do have separate smoking/non-smoking areas on the gaming floor. The state ban on e-cigs goes into effect in July, I believe. Check with casino staff to make sure.
