Shooed from the Showboat

I spent the last few days in Atlantic City. I vaped openly in five different casinos, not paying attention to smoking vs. non-smoking areas. But in the Showboat Casino a young security guard told me I could only vape in the Designated Smoking Areas. He said he knew all about e-cigarettes, but would be in danger of losing his job if he didn't stop me from vaping. I promptly left the casino and had no problem anywhere else.

The TSA at the Atlantic City Airport saw my Provari with a Kanger Protank on the xray and asked if they could look at it. They had no problem with it, just had never seen anything that large. I pointed out that my Provari was a "Mini". They said it looked "wicked" on the machine and told me to have a nice flight.

So, the guard was probably right with getting fired if he didn't say something. First offense is $250 fine. What a state I live in.

Holy Smokes, I had no idea. I must owe the State of NJ about a million dollars. No one said a word.

I love your lawmaker's ignorant comment: “No matter how manufacturers attempt to market these devices, they are still cigarettes. In many ways, they may be more dangerous than traditional cigarettes because of their lack of oversight or any conclusive studies into their health effects.”

Oh, well, It's Vegas next trip for me. Thanks for the info.

I've had enough of NJ. I'm moving to NC in June. Between the sky high property taxes & stupid laws, I just can't live here anymore. Add to it an uncaring boss (last raise in pay was 2007), I just can't do it anymore, I'm done. I never thought there would come a day that I'd leave my home state, but it's happening.

The VA and NC area is nice. Warm weather, less regulation, lower taxes. Lots of folks from New York and New Jersey down here. Come on down, we would love to have you.

Tunica is a lot closer to you than NJ or Vegas. They won't stop you from smoking or vaping.

With no intent to diss any of our Garden State members here, there's NO reason I would ever return to NJ! Been through there several times. Granted, I never got out to da 'garden' districts, which is probably my loss. But, noper, I won't be headin' up dere to spend any coin!
