-1 for the Revolution as well. Bought it, used for an hour, realized how badly it's made...shelved.

BORN, DUDE!! Nice to see you on the forums again.. where have you been hiding yourself?

Just don't drop it on a hard surface, the case will come apart in like 6 pieces.

I liked it enough, but eventually I dropped it, put it back together like usual, but managed to short something somewhere inside it when I did so, next thing I know its shooting smoke out the ANION hole.

RIP.

It is what it is, I don't know if it is a good tester to see if you like bottom feeding or not, since I don't have a real nice bottom feeder to compare it to.

I ended up just using it with cartos and no bottom feeding.
If the Reo's and such function the same way the revolution does, then I would say bottom feeders are a pain in the ....

Somehow I don't think that is the case though...

lol...had a wee bit of personal bull that kept me away...then when i came back, 99 percent of the posts and threads were completely useless. If I read another "oh woe is me Canada Post sucks" thread I will throw myself off a bridge.

:)

Hows you bro?

Doin' good amigo. Happily vaping away!! Lot more stuff to vape these days. Not like back when you started eh?! :)

I'm also looking at trying out a bottom feeder. My B-day is coming up so I figured I'd buy something that's easy for her to wrap!

Dusty, question if you don't mind, and anyone else who has experienced both the Reo Grand and VMOD XL.

Is the Reo worth the premium over the VMOD?

Is it perhaps a better idea to hold off until the VV Reo versions become available?

The VMOD pricing with that coupon sure is tempting. Thx in advance for any insights.

P.S. Any significant disadvantages to bottom feeders?

The cheapest way to see if you like bottom feeders is Old Goat Mods - they have their boxes on for $20 and they're nice. I had one at one point but as I said bottom feeding wasn't my thing. Find Old Goat in the Supplier forums, they have a thread on their $20 sale and you can contact him to buy one.

Thx Chelly, as this is a gift (for me!) it doesn't really have to be the least expensive option. Looking to go mid-range or even higher if there is some value to that.

What was it about bottom feeding you didn't like?
(No offence!....lol...I just read that back)

My post was moreso just an option for anyone looking to try bottom feeding. I just couldn't get used to it personally. I could not get the squonk down at all, I would either get dry hits or huge floods. I gave a few different models a really decent shot too, it just wasn't my thing. Another reason is that I typically don't vape a large volume of one or two juices, I generally have at least 5-6 flavours on the go at once and bottom feeding isn't necessarily conducive to that.

Tough question to answer but yes, I would have to give the edge to the Reo Grand over the VMod XL. They are both solidly built and fully mechanical. The Reo is a lot less fiddly when it comes to the connector bit as well as the changing of the battery. The VMod is more ergonomic in that it has rounded edges that seem to fit the hand better.

The biggest advantage of the Reo over the VMod is most apparent ironically enough when they fail i.e Spring collapse due to bad atty/carto shorting out. The Reo's spring is user replaceable (you do have to order some in from Altsmoke) whereas you have to send the chassis of the VMod to California for it to get replaced and that too only when it's under warranty. I will use my VMod while I have it, but I'm also considering selling it once I get my hands on a VV Reo Grand.

I would not be without a bottom feeder on a long drive, period!! That to me is their biggest advantage. I could go away for a whole weekend or more with a Grand and 2 batts.

i have both the rev2 and the vmod xl. though the reason why i have both is mostly because the rev2 (after a month's worth of use) busted up its insides when i squonked. it was an unfortunate situation and i got to learn firsthand some of the faults of its design. it leaked all the time and the electrical components were starting to act sketchy before the mechanical bits busted on me.
the vmod xl is actually smaller than the boge rev2. i have small little hands, and the size of the vmod xl was a concern of mine as well. however, it's really comfortable to carry. personally i will not be buying another mod/apv that is not wholly mechanical again. i'm pretty confident in the device and it's not that much more than the rev2 for something that will last infinitely longer. while i still regularly use tube shaped pvs, there will always be a special place for a liquid feed mod in my rotation. they're perfect for when you need a single device that will last all week without requiring a refill. i've recently reduced my nic dosage and i've loaded my vmod with the leftover higher mg liquid i had left. it's been a lifesaver for me over the past month because of it.

Just buy a reo. Used you can find them for $100, and I'd you don't like it you can sell it for $100.

Try doing that with a rev or a vmod lol. When I sold my vmod, I only got like $35 shipped to the U.S. You probably couldn't give away a rev2 lol..

I've been using a reo daily now for over 8 months and never had an issue.

Yup.

Bought a used one for $125, sold it for the same. Bought a new one and never looked back.

Worth the investment.

I was lucky enough to snag 2 off the old classifieds and a new VV Woodvil.
I occasionally touch my LT but its rare. It's almost always a Reo

Firstly I apologize to MisterMike for my part in diverting his Revo thread into Reo feedback. I do appreciate everyone's responses here and my further research has indeed increased my interest from a mere 'what's a Reo' to 'gotta get this thing!'
I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for the right one when the VV's arrive but I suspect many others will too, owing to this device's popularity.

It's a hard thing to admit to oneself. That a bottom-feeder apparently lurks within me too, screaming to get out.
