Hi everyone I am very new to vaping. I tried a couple disposables which I liked enough to investigate further, and after some reviews I thought the best balance between performance, ease of use, and good quality led me to the well reviewed Halo Triton. I popped it open today and I like it a lot. MAybe someone could answer a question or two for me?

It has a "replaceable coil" system. I know nothing of this except that it saves the tank by being able to replace these coils. Now being new I got a couple samplers to try things out and see what I like. Should I replace these coils between flavors? And when I do replace them should I throw them out or can they be washed somehow?

Sorry to jump right to questions, but I'm just excited to be using this it's really cool.

Hey, bigt.... Welcome!! When using a tank set up, You don't change coils between flavors. Once you have used all the flavor you can get , you do whats called a dry burn on your atty. There are plenty of areas throughout this site that give video tutorials of how to do this or you can even go to youtube ... type in dry burning coils on whatever atty style you have. This is a vague offering of advice..... Dry burning is the general method that applies to all coil types replaceable or not ... but it is best to only perform when you can expose the coil without having an atty tube still attached to the coil. This allows good air movement around the coil will doing a couple sets of quick fire burns (pulse battery activation til coils turn red, release... do this a couple times just to relieve the coil of extra build up of materials). Hope this helps, sorry a little lengthy but can't just say do this without some why's .... :evil:TOM

I suggest you get some G6 cartos for trying new flavors then put your favs in the Triton clearo tank. The heads/wicks will last about 3-4 weeks. Keep your clearo filled as it works best filled to 2/3. Enjoy! bnrk

This'll work. I got a nice size of their midnight apple flavor to tide me over until the next shipment arrives :) Good tip I didn't realize you could do this but you can! Thanks!

The G6 mintanks are a great way to sample e-juices on the Trtion batteries, with better flavor than the cartomizers. For the full tanks, just rinse out the tanks, unscrew the coils and rinse them all out and let them air dry. The coils will last a good month before you'll need new coils. The batteries re-charge super quickly.

I hope you enjoy your new set-up. I'm still enjoying mine after a full month. Been working great, and the flavor and hit is still good with non-Halo juices, too.

My lazy mans alternative is to just put on a fresh tank and have a few vapes of a flavour mix. You can discover some good flavour combo's with this method.

Love the Triton. Have had the system for 1 month. The tanks are fantastic- no leaks- just make sure the coil head is tight when you unscrew the mouthpiece. Also, don't let them get too low, but I've gone down down to where just the wicks are wet with no issues.
Not sure about dry burning. I don't do it. If I want to save the coil head, I just unscrew it, wash it in warm water and set it on a paper towel to air dry overnight. Same with the tank. I usually just replace the coil heads after a week, or so, though, but I'm sure they last longer. The G6 mini tanks are good for testing flavors and cheap, as well.
You are going to love the Trition.

I pretty much already do! I got their menthol sampler and didn't really delve too deeply into it yet. Why? Because I also got a 7ml bottle of Midnight Apple from Halo which has taken over my existence lol. Immediately went and bought a 30 ml bottle of it right away. Very yummy vape.

My only issue witht he Triton is the maintenance but it looks like it's not that bad. How will I know when the coils need to be washed/replaced?

Welcome to ECF and congrats on making the change from analogues!

I'm actually one of those weirdos who just enjoys vaping. I smoked cigs for ten years when I was young but quit over 5 years ago. I still smoked cigars several times a week though.

I will most likely still enjoy the occasional cigar with friends, but for after work and in need of a nice, mellow chill... e cigs are a great way to blow off some steam. I'm not gonna lie part of my motivation was to smoke e cigs at work because I have a small office and my bosses keep track of how many times you go out per day (we're very big on non-smoking at my place of work...). Unfortunately, I read too many horror stories of that off chance of vapes setting off alarms so I opt towards the side of caution and keep it at home or in my car.

Just to go on a little rant here... I find it odd that so many people are like "Why would you start ecigs dont you know that nicotine's bad for your heart?" Yes... down your 9th cup of coffee for the day and remind me about how dangerous stimulants can be.

The company suggests that keeping the tank above 2mLs is best, but as long as the liquid is near the coils I'm free to use it. Fair enough... so I don't let the juice get too low. So what, then, do I do with the residual juice when it gets too low or when I want to try a new flavor int he tank? Can I just pour out the juice and save it and put it back into the bottle? This seems like a messy process. Maybe use a syringe?

Also: am I free to just throw any type of juice in this tank? Will it work the same? Anything I should be avoiding?

You could syringe it out, or carefully pour it into a new tank. I've been going nuts lately and vaping all the juice out of the tank. Tip the tip down and swirl a bit between draws. As long as the wicks are wet and take short draws, you shouldn't burn anything. More for sport, than to save juice, though.
