Just picked up my first non cloned mech mod last night and im loving it! Got myself a Atom by Apv at my local B&M that actually saved me money because I didnt have to pay for shipping. So far its been great! I havnt checked the voltage drop yet but you can really tell the difference in how this thing hits compared to the clones that I had. I can say the only down side that I have found is that the bottom switch gets a little hot when running my .2 OHM dual coil Igo-w  but I knew that before I bought it and I didnt mind. The guys at my local B&M are great because they let me try out one of the displays and im glad that I did :) I almost bought a Sentinel LA Edtion but after playing around with it I couldnt stand the firing button and it just wasnt my look. Please tell me that it's just the way that your picture was taken that makes it look like a 18350 device.

Are you really firing an 18350 at 0.2 Ohms??????????? If so....

Go read about batteries and their max. discharge rate.

18350 should be 5.6 amps max..... And a 0.2 ohm coil will fire 20 amps...

Bad.

Your asking for trouble.

View attachment 237346Thanks for the concern guys :) This why ECF is great! No im not running .2 on my 18350's. This is my .2ohm in 18650 mode. I am using my 18350's at .7 though (hope that isnt a problem) I have been vaping at .7 with my 18350's for a while now and I havnt noticed any heat. I also only use IMR batteries.

Congrats on your entry into the wonderful world of mech mods! Started with a k100 and have been hooked ever since :)

I would suggest downloading an ohm's law calculator for your phone and finding out what the amp limits are on your batteries... Only way to know if your setups are safe is to run the numbers. Also, consider giving yourself a little headroom on the amps--keep in mind that a freshly charged battery will measure around 4.1 to 4.2V. I personally try to not ever run right up to the amp limit. Not trying to tell you how to do your thing--just suggesting a few of the precautions I take for safety's sake.

Again, congrats on your purchase :) Happy vaping!

Great advice from genghishahn ^^^^. Also consider a short will lower the resistance of your coil. I have seen one of my 0.8 ohm coils drop to 0.5 ohms, so almost half. At 4.2 volts you are drawing 21 amps. The only battery I know of that I would feel comfortable using for this application are Sony US18650VTC3 18650's rated for 30 amps. If it ever shorted to 0.1 ohms the amp draw would double to 42. Vape safe!

actually at .5 ohms you would draw about 8.4 amps, not 21. Correct on the .1 ohm coil numbers.
edit: nm your talking about the draw on the .2 ohm coil.

anyways the reason i found this thread was i was looking for the voltage drop on the atom, anyone find that yet?

Here's my video on the V2 Atom. It's my first attempt at a vape video, so I have lots of room for improvement. I'm working on getting a tank volt meter. Keep an eye out on my channel and I will have that info soon.
