The size and weight are Perfect for a mod. It fits in my hand nicely without being too large. It has enough weight with the battery to let you know it's there without being perceived as heavy. The 510 connector is straight, as is the buttons. Vent hole is all the way through the bottom. No cosmetic imperfections. The male threading on the end cap and inner female threads appear to be well machined. The cap screws on and off with ease and snugs good so it doesn't back out on it's own.

I'm using the batteries factory charge and the LT says this is at 3.9 volts. I set it on 5.0 volts and pop on my 3.0 ohm Vision Extreme. The hit is exactly like my Old Goad 5v regulated mod. This 3.0 ohm Vision Extreme has been in use for about two months. I try one or two volts up and down and find I prefer the vape at 5.2 volts. I'm using Wyatt Earp 24 mg with a 50/50 PG, VG blend. (From FreedomsmokeUSA.com)

Now time to charge the battery up to 4.2 volts on my 8 dollar MadVapes charger. This is the one I'm using. AG-126 Lithium Ion Battery Charger I don't have a meter as of yet to check anything so for now I'll have to trust that this built in meter is close enough and go on my experience of how hitting atty's feel at different voltages to arrive at any conclusions.

The AG-126 charger charged the AW 18659 IMR battery up quickly. The LT's built in meter says it's at 4.2 volts.

Trying a 2.8-3.0 ohm rated Fluxomiser. I find these must be the lower rating of 2.8 ohms because on my 5v regulated box mod these burn my juice. Also these don't seem to wick as well as Vision Extremes. I try a few settings between 4.6 and 5.0 and find these vape best at 4.7 with good flavor. I'm using Millennium Milkshake 24 mg with a 50/50 PG, VG blend. (from Zombie-Juice.com)

I can dial the voltage down to 4.6 for best taste with this juice but then I start to lose the TH and the amount of thick vapor I'm used to. I happily sacrifice a little bit of flavor for the experience I like.

Overall I find the unit performs well and feels like it's solidly constructed. I will use it for a few days then post an hour by hour comparison on any voltage drop I find when I get my meter. This is something that concerns me as some people have bad voltage drop issues and others do not. Can't try anything else now, I'm Nic'd out.

It seems with VV nothing is certain. Type of atty, ohm rating, wicking ability, age, how clean the coil is plus using different juices all effect the vaping experience and you have to dial up or down to find what you like best. With a regulated mod you don't think about those things because you don't have a choice. Now with VV you have to think about all those variables. I know my Vision Extreme is not hitting like new at two months old and being able to bump it up to 5.2 volts makes a huge difference. For always being able to adjust to taste, adjust for age of atty and other factors having a VV brings vaping to a whole new level to keep you satisfied. Glad I got one and so far the LavaTube does not disappoint.

That's awesome John, glad your fine with it so far. Also, with your experience with VV you know what ya like and it seems to deliver... don't need a volt meter to tell ya....:) Thanks and looking forward to your follow up.

Actually this is my first VV mod but I have used different battery sizes with different ohm coils before, so I kinda had some idea what to expect.

Ya know it's easy to get caught up in the specs and say this unit isn't performing to specs but feel and experience plays it's part too. I'm trying to be objective enough to consider both. As long as the unit doesn't drop voltage on me too quickly and I'm still able to get the vape I like, I may be o.k. with it in the long run. I just wish it had a better track record and there were not a lot of people finding problems. Then again many of those reports came from people who had pre-release versions. I'm hoping those problems were fixed.

Only been using it for two hours so far. Love the style. Now I just need to get to work like a mini lightsaber. Hmm

Darth: "Luke, I am you father. Search you feelings. Know it to be true."

Luke, " Nooooo. You're a Smoker. It cannot be true!"

(later)
Luke: " I know you still have good in you father. Come back to the Vapeing side. It's not too late. but if you refuse, I shall have to pull out my LavaTube and strike you down!"

Update

It took 15 hours of regular non heavy use to get the 4.2v battery charge down to 3.6. At this point it still appered to vape like normal when I'd set it between 5.0 and 5.2. It was bedtime so on the charger it went.

I did not experience any voltage drop issues yet afaik. I was probably close to the cut off point at 3.6v just before it starts dropping. Without a meter, I kinda have some experience detecting how a voltage drop feels because I used an unregulated Riva 3.7v 750 mah battery for many months.

If this thing will give me 15 hours a day I may be fine But I got this because I wanted to experience vaping at higher voltages with higher resistance Ohms. So far those atties have not come in so I can't test it good. I would be happy with this unit if it gave me 14 hours of heavy vaping at 5,5 to 5.8 volts before the battery dropped voltage enough to effect my output under load.

Anything less won't do and at that point I may return the unit in favor of a MadVapes VV Box mod with built in meter for 42 bucks. I already use a regulated 5v mod you see, if I cannot use this thing for the reasons I purchased it, it's no good to me. I'll report back when i find out more.

Nice reviews and updates John! Glad that you are liking your LT so far. For me, I usually set mine and leave it at 5.3 volts with a 3.0ohm smoke tech carto/tank system. I get the perfect balance of flavor, TH, and flavor for me. I do find that I can go through batteries pretty fast over 5 volts. And, I'm using true AW IMR 18650 1600mah batteries. 6-8 hours, typically for me and how a vape. I notice a drop in voltage performance around 3.6 volts. I just stop, and charge, since I have several of these batteries. But, I would expect this at over 5 volts of vaping. But, when I have tried some of my attys and cartos that typically use a voltage range in the mid to lower 4 volt range, i can get upwards of 16-18 hours of vaping time.

Have fun, enjoy and vape on!

I got my silver LT today and so far I'm really liking it. I've been using it for six hours and it is down to 3.6 v and still hitting very well on my 3 ohm Go-carto. I've just been using it at 4.5 being as that is where it works best for me with this carto. I really like how easy it is to change the voltage or to check the voltage on the battery. I had one of the original Buzz VV and this is a thousand times better. There are only two things that I wish were different, one is I wish the fire button was directly under the other buttons and the bumps on the battery cap are a little annoying but those are very minor problems. I'm very happy with it and for 59.00 you can't go wrong!
