Got my new EGO kit today

This should be interesting. Several thoughts:

The "instruction manual" sure is lacking in actual instructions! Good thing I have this forum (and YouTube) to fall back on.

I have noticed an odd, almost insecticide smell ever since I opened the package. I haven't even tried using it yet, the battery is still charging. What the heck am I smelling? I blew out the atomizer and that didn't seem to smell.

I have very keen senses of smell and taste. I have always wondered what it would be like if I quit smoking considering how I can smell things nobody else seems to notice. I hope I don't become a naggy old biatch now! There are still 2 smokers in my house...for now.

I hope to have my juices on Monday so I can try out the non-tobacco flavors. I forgot to order them when I ordered my kit. Yeah, yeah, facepalm.

So, any comments?

Congrats on your new kit.

I've always had a keen sense of smell despite smoking and after 2+ months vaping, it's about the same. I hope you don't start hating the smell of stale smoke because you are going to drive your housemates nuts.

Maybe the insecticide smell is the packaging. My CIGNOT Ego-T starter kit box smells a bit like that when opened.

I noticed that smell when I opened a new product the other day. I believe it's just the smell of new plastic that they are made with. Like the inside of a new car has a smell to new upholstery.

Hi labgramma,
I'll go along with the others regarding the odor. Some of the cartomizers that I've received seem to give off a chemical-like smell when I tear the plastic wrapping off.
Enjoy the eGo. Try to be patient with the smokers. Maybe you can convert them into vapers.

Thanks for the replies. I thought maybe it was just "me" and my imagination. I feel better now.
I must admit I'm a little scared...I haven't actually tried the thing yet. Working up my courage, I guess. It's a big step after 45 years. Just took it off the charger...

Just a quick note. Make sure that the cartridges that came with your kit actually have flavor in them already. I talked with another member and they had a terrible experience because the carts were blank and she didnt know and was literally trying to Vape just the Filler in it and well you can imagine how bad that tasted.

Also do a search on priming the atomizer and dry burn before use. They most commonly come from the factory with an oil or lube that can take a bit to burn off making your first impression a little unpleasant. Dont get discouraged if you dont take to it right away with the pre-filled cartridges because adding the ejuices will make a big difference in taste and vapor.

If your sense of smell is that keen and your still smoking I can't imagine how miserable you're going to be very soon with 2 smokers under the same roof.
I smoked for 35 years...no problem, no annoying odors etc... 2 months into vaping and the smell of a cigarette (especially in my truck) nearly makes me gag. lol...guess I've become a naggy old biatch.
