Hey guys,

Just got my Reo Grand today + Reomizer.

I made a 0.9 ohm coil with 28 gauge kanthal and used an organic cotton ball to make my wick...its vaping well, but the after taste is of wet socks...any suggestions? Do I need to try boiling it first?

Definetly need to not use 18mg juice anymore, waaaay too much nic!

Hi Rob - Thanks for the reply...you did send me some 2.5mm silica wick, I guess I will give that a try too.

Bit too tired to keep messing with it, took over an hour to get my coil right.
You will find your sweet spot soon enough . I would try the silica and the sterile cotton they both work great

I boil all cotton.
Sterile does not mean it does not have sizing agents still in it only that it doesn't have biologically active components.
On an industrial level cotton is sterilized with gamma radiation.
I have found an oily film on top of the water with all types of cotton I have boiled.
That wet sock taste is what made me boil mine.

BTW, don't know if pdib has given you the jewel encrusted lady yet, if not

Yes...and pics of your Reo as well! You thought you could distract us with coil talk but we're not that easily fooled.

No siree...not one bit.

Also...as mentioned...try less cotton. Too much cotton always gives me a weird taste. You'd be surprised at how little you actually need (but you'll need to experiment to find out what works best for you...try with maybe a Q-tips (tm) worth.)

You are probably using too much cotton. There are brands that need boiling, but most newbies make the mistake of shoving to much cotton through.

I roll my wick so that it is tapered: really skinny at one end and gets fatter on the other. Then I put it in the coil and tug slightly once it won't move freely anymore. This seems to work for my builds.

Yep....sounds like too much cotton. When you roll your cotton and feed it thru coil it should be just big enough to feel slight resistance as you pull it thru.

It will expand quite a bit after it gets soaked with juice.

The first 10 or so hits are off tasting... and my wicks last about 12 - 18ml before needing changed. That is if I don't undersqounk and burn my wick prematurely!

Good luck
