So my wife is a "light" but regular smoker, marlb lights her go to analog. I've been vaping for a few months but only quite analogs a full month ago. I have really enjoyed sampling new flavors, vanilla, chocolate, liqueurs, fruits, Bounty Hunter, etc. A week ago I ordered "Premium tobacco" from E-cig Express, for two reasons: I wanted to try a more pure tobacco flavor just to see what I thought (I used to smoke pipe tobacco in the military just a tad, but really liked cherry tobacco and high grade pure tobacco flavors) but MOSTLY I ordered this for her. Trying to get her to 1) give up analogs forever, and 2) to start to be more supportive of my new obsession!

Long story short, it worked! She really really liked it! The flavor, the TH, the fact that it surprised her how much the act and feel was so much more like a real cigarette than she would have ever believed! I think I may be able to convince her to quit analogs after this pack is gone, and either used one of mine on those few times a day she is craving one, or even to buy her own, even if it's a dispo, at first!

I couldn't be more pleased.

Personally, the Premium blend from ECX isn't that great imo, a little too nutty, but mission accomplished! I will be trying some other tobacco flavors though to find one that I really DO like/love!

Thanks to all, as always.

Jim, you are totally right, it is something she has to want, and she really does. She just wants unfortunately to go back to where she was before, having 2 or 3 with friends over drinks every once in a while, but it's still smoking and still unhealthy, and she knows this which is why she really DOES want to quit. My intent was just to show her that there is a GREAT alternative to smoking, vaporizing of course. And she MAY be on the verge of her own realization of that thanks to that nutty (imo! lol) tobacco flavor I introduced her to.

I will definitely back off a bit, maybe just let her try my PV again a few times and not say anything about giving up cigarettes for the PV alternative, in the hopes that she come to her own conclusion about it.

Thanks Jim,

I REALLY hope she WILL quit and enjoy vaping as much as anyone here... to be clear, but IMO for it to be good to her and to LAST (which IS the most important thing) she can never feel like she "quit for you" - trust me that will not help you in any way! There are so many here who never intended to quit they felt they could supplement their smoking, not have to go outside in the cold/rain (whatever) and then suddenly realized they hadn't smoked in days/weeks/ etc.

IF she has a PV loaded with something she likes (nutty perhaps) "just in case" at her disposal at any time that "might" be a good thing ;)

>just remember she must WANT to quit

On my opinion this is absolutely unnecessary. I never wanted to quit, never even tried all these patches, etc. smoked for 42 years more than pack a day. After trying e-cigs I just forgot to buy cigarettes next day. I think this is a real wonder of e-cigs, they work even if smoker does not want to quit. So don't encourage her to make a "decision", there is no need to make a decision, it will just happen if she will use PV from time to time.

I've been vaping for almost two years now, and bought my wife a 510 kit when I started. She still occasionally vapes her 510 with SEC (Kent) VG juice which has almost no throat hit. When she tries my Ego and a LR carto, it makes her cough, so she doesn't want an eGo!

Eventually, I will find the right combo for her. Carts on a 510 are pretty lightweight and 100% VG won't work well in a carto. She definitely doesn't like PG in her vape. I'll probably order a Volt for her, since she likes slim ecigs.

Semantics...

Want to quit, want to vape , NOT want to smoke- no matter how one words it- the Point was simply that pushing someone will usually have bad results and when you live with that person as a spouse it Might be wise to avoid that entirely. I mentioned several who "forgot to buy smokes/ never intended to quit" so I believe I covered that as well.

Let's not argue over this thread, you both are correct, because for many people they DO have to really want to quit. Many have tried unsuccessfully for months, years, etc because deep down they didn't really want to quit or just weren't mentally prepared to let go of the crutch of smoking. I was one of these.

For others, certainly they maybe never considered their smoking a problem since "I only smoke a few per day/once in a while/with alcohol, or whatever. But then these types maybe tried a PV, and found it to be just as satisfying, maybe even more so, than a cigarette, coupled with the fact that they know it to be a less-dangerous alternative.

And maybe some here find it ALMOST as satisfying as a real cigarette (again, like myself) and have found that to be good enough. But for myself, I expect when I get a Provari in a few weeks I will find it every bit as satisfying, or more so than my menthol cigs! I need MORE VAPOR...MORE VAPOR.

Way to go and I hope you can fully convert her! ... If you really want to get her hooked I think you should buy her a PV of her own. Go with a two piece analog style because this seems to suit the "head space" that she is in right now..

And if your wife is a girlie girl, then make sure you get her a prettier PV with colored batteries, and cartos :D ... Another suggestion is to try and get her to come onto ECF and read some newbie success stories, and perhaps show her a video review or two ;-)
