I found a store locally and picked up a small Ego-t (vision I think?). The size of the ego made it easy to justify, also the thought of being able to stop smoking "analogs" after 20 years of zero success was far too enticing to wait for the kit that I ordered Thursday.

So far so good, I also picked up a tobacco and a grape flavored juice. The grape is better than I thought it would be and the tobacco one is worse than I thought it would be. My last full regular cigarette was at 4pm, and I took a couple of drags from one around 8pm (just to be sure :) ) and almost immediately put it out. I am hooked.

For anyone thinking of switching, just do it. It's not that complicated once you know what to buy. A battery, and a clearomizer (get some extras so you can have other flavors ready to go) and you're on your way. juice too. With my original order, I picked up some cartomizers (cartridge style) and I know that those will likely never really be used as it seems like they will be annoying to fill frequently.

So in all likelihood, my Kgo will be here Monday. So far, I do not regret my impatience as I now have a more portable battery to carry around.

Thank you to all of the members here (who posted their experiences with vendors and products) whose thoughts and experiences I obsessively read over for a day to help me build my knowledge of the products needed to get started. I hope that one day mine can prove beneficial to someone else new in the future.

"...I picked up some cartomizers (510 style)..."

Hi and congratulations! Do you mean the cartridge tubes with the fiber inside, that you drip liquid into then push into the atty? That's the kind that came with my first kit. I still use them sometimes to try out new flavors. I'll drip a flavor, then if I think I like it I'll use one of the cartridges to make sure before I commit a whole tank to it. Juice sometimes tastes much better when dripped and I hate it when I fill up a tank, only to find I don't like the flavor.

While they aren't that expensive to buy, you can refill them with aquarium filters thingys ;) I got the tip from my local vape store. myPVshop Electronic Cigarettes - Electronic Cigarette Accessories

Good to know! I have some poly fill for my saltwater tank, so I could always stuff some of that in there.

If he's talking about what I'm talking about, we're talking about these: Joye 510 round black empty blank cartridge/filter (Genuine Joyetech!)

Yes. https://www.hoosierecig.com/5-pack-of-17ohm-single-coil-510-cartomizer-by-Smok-Tech_p_39.html These were the ones, I believe they were the short ones.

Actually, looking at your link I don't think we are talking about the same thing. The ones I was talking about are in two pieces. The atty, then a separate fiber-filled cartridge tube that you stick into it. This is what they look like together: Joye 510 or Joye eGo electronic cigarette replacement atomizers They came with my original kit and I think they are pretty old school.

ETA: The one you linked to looks to me like a one piece cartomizer, not an atomizer cartridge combo.

Since, I am new, I am not exactly sure. I saw that they were referenced and compatible with the kgo, so I bought them. I know that the cap comes off and you fill/refill into the poly material around the edge. I will take some pictures when I receive them and post so we're on the same page. From what I have read, they're similar to the boge style. (I might be using to general of terms)

Don't worry about it, it's not important, except that if it's a one piece cartomizer you can't just re-stuff it like I was talking about.

At this point in the day, on a normal day I would have had 9-10 cigarettes by now. Today I have had zero. I am completely sold. I have had a few instinctual/habitual urges, but they were easy to resist. Next step is weening down the nicotine. I am using 16mg liquid right now.

Greetings from Canada! Welcome to ECF!

Please do not rush the nicotine reduction. Get yourself on firm footing first. The days are not all the same, a strong craving can come along at any time and if you are not prepared, it will win. Consider keeping stronger juice around to combat stronger cravings. A bottle of juice or a loaded carto can prove to be invaluable.

I applaud your success so far, but please do not take it for granted and then risk losing your progress. Be proud of each smoke you avoid and when a craving comes along, Vape it away! Especially remind yourself first thing in the morning to Vape before you consider anything else.

Relax, Enjoy!

Thanks for the heads up XP 3. I will definitely take your thoughts into consideration. I know "next step" sounds pretty immediate, but I should have said next step over time. I am not in a rush.

Second day so far with no cigarettes, went outside with my dog this morning and was shocked at how beautiful the air smelled and I also discovered that my coffee may be too bold tasting.

Ugh, moment of weakness yesterday. I ended up smoking half of a cigarette. I caught a stomach bug on Monday and was violently ill through Tuesday morning. Later I started using my ego and the flavors were turning my stomach, as I was attributing them to when I first felt ill. I figured screw it, I will just have the cigarette and go back to the flavors once I am 100%... I could not believe how awful the cigarette tasted. It's almost like when non-smokers mention that someone smells like an ashtray, this truly tasted like eating the char left over in an ashtray. So still a tick off from being sick, I ran out and picked up two new flavors that would not remind me of being sick. Success, I am happy again and continuing (or restarting) my journey of being completely smoke free. And my nose is also stuffy today from that half of a cigarette. Whomp whomp.

If we all think back to that "Very First" puff of a cigarette, we will remember that it was not immediately "satisfying and delicious"! It was Terrible! We forced ourselves to learn to like this and Look Cool at the same time. As it developed into an Addiction, the taste was not the factor that kept bringing us back to another smoke. It was the Addiction.

My point is; of all the times I have stopped smoking, Never has the taste of a cigarette been Terrible when I weakened and tried one. This Vaping Adventure has changed all that! I don't like (Can't Stand) the taste of cigarettes! They don't have enough "Smoke" in them! They in No Way satisfy me like Vaping does.

I guess "Paradigm" or "Epiphany" are the best words to describe the change. Irregardless of what you call it, there is no going back for me. Smoking doesn't satisfy; Vaping does!

Just a progress update, still not smoking, though I did have one full cigarette last week. Not sure why, just did. Didn't get any enjoyment from it. So I doubt I will be having another anytime soon. My wife is still smoking (1-2 cigarettes a day) and it's eye opening to smell it on her clothes when she comes into the house. I have been trying to convince her to try vaping, but the first few flavors she tried weren't that great.

I placed an order from mtbakervapor yesterday and it shipped yesterday, I am excited to try new flavors. My AiV order from the 29th still has not shipped, I am not happy about that. I understand that they were backlogged from black friday, but this is unacceptable. If it does not ship by tomorrow (2 weeks), I will unfortunately be cancelling.

Is it normal for some liquid to drip into the battery flange from a clearomizer? Or do I have faulty/leaky clearo's? I have two/three different clearo's (not from the same source) doing it. Am I possibly overfilling?

Hi rcharliesam,
Yes it can be "normal". Since your aware of it, check it often and wipe it up. You didn't say what you had, but some like the Vision v2 will put a drop on the battery, no matter what you do. Don't fill any higher than the top of wick and try to keep upright. I've not had that problem, yet, with Kanger T2 or Vivi Nova, but always did with the "stardust" type.
