Hi

I have several health reasons that fully justify me stopping smoking today8-o, but I am still clinging to the cigs like there is no tomorrow.

I have read these forums trying to get a grip on the various issues and though I have learned a lot (thanks to all of you), I still don't know which device to buy to take the plunge into e-smoking.

I know the device will need to hang off my lips a lot (unladylike or not:p) for me to transit myself off the cigs completely. I don't really have a choice about continuing to smoke and e-cigs feel like my last hope. I have tried so many other methods and relapsed. This time it has to be for real.

I'm worried about what seems like a lot of fiddling with the DSE901B - all that charging and things like the atomisers/batteries giving up plus what looks like a fair amount of time spent putting drops/carts into it. I know I'll need spares which is fine but will they really go the mile in terms of my pretty heavy addiction. How long can a heavy smoker expect a battery or atomizer to last for? I might have this all wrong - it might be easier than I think but I have fears I'll find myself back at the local shop buying the malboro's if things are not easy enough:oops:.

On the other hand I like the idea of lot's of vapour and it seems a versatile option in that it can take high nicotine juice or cartridges. Plus it looks sleek & light.

My other option is the Ruyan Bling e-cigar. Plus a disposable or two to fill in the gap if the bling goes pearshaped on me. Looks like I might be able to smoke it for longer than the 901B?

So I am torn. Which option to go for? Would it be worth investing in both options? Do you think both choices would compliment each other or am I barking up the wrong tree altogether?

I'd really appreciate any advice. :)

i think your onto a winner with your assesment their ruby. the bling seems to carry quite the gurantee and the 901 has few complaints, one being that the cart is kinda tiny for those who arent into dripping. if i was brand new to e-cig land, judging by the current mood on the forum i think i would be picking those two also. though at present i do have neither. you can use the 901 for any exercises in drippin/experimenting and the blinger soley for the carts it was designed for as a stable.

I'll chime in also, if no one minds.

I been doing the e-cig thing for a little over two weeks. It has been a learning process, BUT, also a pleasant one. It was never my intention to quit real cigs, but, in the process, I have managed to go with only 2-4 real cigarettes a day (as opposed to slightly over a pack a day), and JUST today, I'm proud to say, I haven't had one real smoke. What is really odd though is, I haven't missed it all that much.

I'm finding it very natural to smoke the e-cig, and the only real drive for a real one has been a psychological one. And everyone is right, a real smoke tastes like *&@#(*@. (Funny I never seemed to notice that before). Being (what I consider) a heavy smoker, I personally would recommend the pen-style e-cig (generic or otherwise) although I can't claim a HUGE experiance level or anything. I also have the mini, but I (so far) have found it to be more work.

Anyway, what I would recommend is to try (any or all). Worst case, your out a little money. Best case, you may be smoking your LAST real cigarette very soon. :)

Wish you the best fellow....explorer.

Thanks all of you for kind words, advice & encouragement!

Reading your input made me feel that I can do this! You are all doing really well, keep vaping!:)

Apart from my health which is suffering, I am also tired of the constant smell of cigs in my house & on me:oops: & the tar on my ceilings (paint job calling my name!)and I am looking forward to a much cleaner way to smoke.

Sanneke I must say the kiss box was a top consideration too, it looks to be a very good device, but it does seem a bit hit & miss on the service side right now...might be another wrong impression but I feel hesitant because of that. Perhaps things will sort out soon & I'll be joining the queue to order one. It's fantastic that you are doing so great with it right from the start! I think you have made it through the worst initial time of stopping the cigs and you are flying now! :thumb:

I think I am going to be shopping rather a lot in the weeks to come!:D:p

If your in the US, I don't think you'd have any problems as I know that Jeff at JantyUSA.com receives nothing but the highest of praise from everyone that deals with him.
The European side of Janty is what's getting complaints. Not sure what that's all about.

Just another opinion from another ex-smoker in Texas.

I started the e-smoking adventure abotu 6 weeks ago and an adventure it has been.

After having tried several different types/models and lots of juice, I have finally landed with the dse901b and a good penstyle with extra batteries, charges and juice.

I had prepared myself to be unsatisfied and still can't believe the success I have had. Only 5 or maybe 6 real cigs in that time, and they taste nastier every time I pick up one. I just do it to convince myself that this real, this is not some fantasy, I have really found an option that is working for me and hubby and daughter.

And the life changes so far have been wonderful as we are now able to participate in group activities where we were invited before but did not feel comfortable with a big group of non-smokers. Our former smoking friends are so supportive and we support them with their options, be it gum, patches, whatever.

No, there is not a truly "easy" way, but I can tell you that this 56-year old former 3+ pack per day smoker (smoking over 37 years) finds esmoking and changing batteries and dripping and topping off cartridges a LOT easier than keeping up with a working lighter, emptying filthy ashtrays, keeping breath mints and scented lotion on hand, spraying down the car, the house, the clothes, etc etc etc. Not to mention buying cigarettes here in Texas at avg $50US per carton.

So I carry a little pouch with a couple of extra charged batteries and small bottle of juice, drip a little juice to keep carts wet or just to drip, and I am free of all the other, and feel better already, have made some great new friends here and with vendors I am dealing with.

Go for it... I think you too will be surprised !

Good vaping to ya!
