GPU Support

I already have fairly nice PPD, but I can still be doing much more!

Have two other GPU's not being utilized and cannot seem to get them to work.

The GTX 580's were a breeze, but I also have an ATI 4890 and an AMD 5770 not being used.

Keeps giving me an error something like "No more GPU's on Xxx.xxxxx.xxxx.xxxx"

Any help to get these working would be highly appreciated.

I'm having the same problem, only it's with my GTX 580. It just wont let me add it as a slot and doesn't even seem to be identifying it in the system info tab of the client. When I do try to add it it gives the 'On client "local" XXX.X.X.X:36330: No more GPUs' error.

i know many of the ATI cards arent supported or are having problems.
in the sticky is a few links to gpu's faq's and a link to the main folding forum and can see if there is some answers there

Well I tried everything in the FAQ, still cannot seem to get my cards to work. Anyone know anything about getting an ATI 4890 or an AMD 5770 to work?

Are you guys using a fake plug? DVI/DSub connector with 3x 68ohm resistors in certain pins? The 30 Second Dummy Plug

And are you using the GUI client or GPU3/2?

Been trying to configure my humble GPU to run with F@H, without success. Then I find there is no GPU support under Linux Has anyone had success running the MicroS**t client under WINE, with GPU support?

GPU2/3 work in WINE. Give that a shot.

Did you configure it prior to running?

Yes, configured twice (to verify). User name, team, passkey, Don't ask before fetching, no proxy,, normal size, didn't change advanced options. Messages: (started with flag '-verbosity 9' to get maximum info for debugging this)
+ Attempting to get work packet
- will indicate memory of 3953 MB
- Connecting to assignment server
Connecting to http://assign-GPU.stanford.edu:8080/

Initial: 0000; +no appropriate work server was available; will try again in a bit.
+ Couldn't get work instructions
- Attempt #74 to get work failed, and no other work to do.
Waiting before retry.

Then I finally found their server status page. If I'm reading the status correctly, the GPU server really does not have any work units to hand out at this time

OK. Found my problem. Hardware not supported. I have a ATI/AMD 4550, originally purchased to be 'low end graphics card, since I would be using this machine mostly for non-graphics-intensive use.

Found on F@H WinGPUguide:
NOTE: The end of support for ATI/AMD 4xxx series and below was announced in March 2011, and scheduled to end in September 2011. The last of the Fahcore_11 (GPU2) work units actually lasted until June 2012, more than a year after the original announcement.

So, yeah, server doesn't have any work for me, until I upgrade my card. Thanks for the help!
