Well last night's success rebuilding some Kanger heads got me pretty self-confident so today I was thinking I should try a rebuildable atomizer, so I made an impulse purchase for a AGA T2 with pyrex tank. I think I got a good deal on it too, $22.95 shipping included from a place called Hoosier Vapes. Now I'm wondering what I've done. LOL. Did I make a good choice going with a genesis style?

In my not very humble opinion, gennies are the bees knees.

There are a couple of things about the Aga T2s I don't often see people point out that you might want to be aware of. Else, great frustration may haunt you. When you get it, note how the center post is not fastened in any way other than with the top nuts. This means it is possible to rock it a little from the 510 connector. This may cause the coil to adjust itself and create hotspots. Also, the top deck is screwed on, so it is possible to "rock the whole boat" a little if you have a tendency to "screw on" your top cap. Try to press the cap straight down and/or hold on to the deck firmly when putting it on. Else, coil / adjust / hotspot / etc.

No big deal. Just something that may cause confusion and aggravation if you're not aware of it.

That all sounds like French to me at this point but when I get it and actually have it in my hands I will most certainly refer back to your advice. Thanks.

Take you time, watch a few videos, and don't get frustrated. For me it was a steep learning curve, and I started with an RSST which is a good beginner's Genesis.

Torch your wire, oxidize your wick WELL, and don't wrap the coil too tight would be my top 3 recommendations.

Well that's the other thing, tomorrow is my birthday. :p

Happy early Birthday! :)

It took me a while just to get the hang of recoiling a simple kanger head so I'm prepared for the frustration. Thanks a lot man.

I have 2 AGA-Ts and although I rarely use them now they were definitely decent devices. I found I did not much like SS mesh even though I got good with setting it up. I found much too much bother. These days when use the AGA-T2s I set them up with micro coil and cotton wick.

THere are lots of videos out there with lots of different builds and wicking materials. Experiment until you find the one that works for you.

Congrats on taking the plunge. Watch a ton of videos and read the rebuildable subforum here - learn all you can about battery safety, resistance checking, and coil building techniques. What you'll find with the genny's is that there is a fair bit of debate around coil and (particularly) wick types. Some are 'traditionalists' and preach that only scorched SS mesh can be used as the wick, while others swear by SS wire with an ecowool sleeve to avoid hot spots and shorts. Others, still, will talk about microcoils and cotton wicks, and then there is this whole subohm build scene (the most potentially dangerous style of vaping). Confused? Time for research, then. It'll all make sense if you take the time, do the reading/watching.

I will say don't get caught up in the fashion of extreme builds, cloud chasing, and so forth. Understand your goals (and they are your goals) and build for that.

That all said, I love genny's for vaping. They just take patience and a fair amount of fiddling to tune right. Once you're there, it's a happy place.

If you're going to be using SS mesh you could do a lot worse than read eHuman's blog on the subject. Patience is definitely going to be your friend in this endeavor. Once I figured out how to make a build that worked consistently, I really enjoyed it and still do. Very clean flavor and the rest is good too.

Have fun and good luck :thumb:

Heh! It just barely made sense to me when I typed it, too. :D

Just tiny little pieces of a puzzle that may or may not fit the bigger picture at some point. Best of luck, by the way! :)
