Hey everyone,

I've been vaping for almost 2 years now and I love it. I usually buy myself flavor triplers from JuiceWhore, which I mix with my nic-jiuce and plain VG.

Anyways, today I decided to just get the flavourings instead of the triplers and I am wondering how much flavoring per ml of liquid do I need?

As I'm not able to find a clear answer. I'm not into making complicated recipes at first. Just gonna try the easy things like watermelon and mango.

How many drops of flavor per ml would you recommend? btw, i vape 100% VG if that makes any difference.

Kind Regards

Thanks in advance :)

Yeah i have never relied on drops for that same reason as drops can vary.
I use syringes and pipettes to measure

I noticed in the ejuice calculator app on my iPhone, different brand flavorings had different numbers of drops per ml.

Now I'm just assuming all i need to do is mix my nicotine vg, plain vg and flavoring and thats it, right?

Yes that is basically it. Then plan on letting them "steep" to get the full flavor effect. For testing, I mix 6 ml batches, then steep them in hot water about 3 times before I try them. Then I try them again the next day. For this, I use a small coffee cup with hot water from my kuerig, drop the bottle in it and leave it until it reaches room temp. Then repeat.

I do use "drops" as a measure when adding something like vinegar to the mix. But other than that, syringes are best for measuring flavors imo.

I don't know if you guys have seen the eJuice app, i have it on my iphone and ipad.
Apart from a nice calculator, there is also a recipe archive, some yummy looking ones i hope to try one day.

Thanks again for all the info peeps :)

Any tips on speed steeping?
I'm currently out of juice at the moment and have just mixed up a batch which kinda taste like perfume lol.
I have got a 10ml batch to speed steep. Can I just nuke the bottle in the microwave?

Some people microwave it (not a good idea IMO), some people give it hot water soaks, some people use an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner, some people use electronic shaking devices, and some people just shake and patiently wait.

Some flavor concentrates impart a floral/perfume flavor and aroma. Sometimes that will diminish over time, sometimes it wont.

At the risk of opening up that "drops" can of worms again, I'm going to tell you to just get some 1ml syringes. You don't even need needles as the dropper of most flavor bottles can just be popped off. Then just insert the syringe in there.

Once you get the hang of it, maybe you can use drops but I wouldn't to start out with. It just has the potential to vary a lot.

As for steeping, I'm very much of the belief that it really doesn't do anything and is in most people's heads. There are a few exceptions. Tobacco flavors are one. Anything you personally extract from a natural source or whatever is probably another. But using off the shelf flavors drops ...I don't think steeping matters.

Tobacco diffinitly need steeping. I've also just started venturing into the world of fruits and creams. I've noticed with the few I've tried that they also need 1 or 2 days steeping. I found that with fruits they were actually very tastefull when first mixed then 1 or 2 days later the taste faded and I had to add more fruit flavor. Then the flavor was up to par and lasted.

This batch I mixed up is watermelon mixed at 33.33% In other words 10ml flavouring, 20ml VG&Nic

I tried the juice straight away and it had a strong perfume flavour. Also, I was expecting the juice to be somewhat clear, but it seems to be milky.
Too strong? What do you guys reckon?

the_vape_nerd: I only use syringes and pipettes, I dont bother with drops, never have :)

One third flavoring sounds waaay to strong to me. About the strongest I mix anything is Capellas' sweet strawberry at 15%. Be careful what you do now though, as you can wind up wasting some juice if the flavor won't come round. In other words, if you double your amount with base you'll cut the percent in half, but you'll also have about 20 ml of juice that you may not like. I'd suggest using 1 ml of base and adding some of the mix to it to see if it's going to come together for you.

Well I started again with another flavour. This time melon.
The flavor smelt lovely and delicious. This time i mixed it in at 15% and it still seems milky and tastes horrible lol. I even added some PG which I never do to thin the juice out a little bit, but it still seems thick and milky.
It's what i get for trying to save a few dollars i guess, as these flavours were under the shops own brand. the flavour arts flavours I tried last time were much better than this. Gonna order some flavor arts flavours tonight, I hope I can last till they get delivered :(
