Grand batt rattle... ? Spring compressed.

Hi gang, I have a couple older Grands, one is getting a face lift at Robs, and one is another used Grand that had a clean up about a month ago.
Lately the battery rattles whenever I pick it up like it was a toddlers toy.
The spring was pretty compressed, maybe from using different length IMR 18650's, and darker in the mid area.

Might look for a spring replacement eventually but my opinion is that I'll stick to one size 18650 just to keep the spring right.The 1600's are shorter than the 2000 AW, and some other brand IMRs are different lengths too.

I've pulled my spring up with tweezers a couple of times. If it's actually depressed from a short, I don't. But if it's just too flat, you can pull it up with tweezers or a knife or scissors or something and it'll help that rattle.

Spring collapsed and dark in the middle. Is definetly a short. the spring is designed to collapse that way to break contact and keep the battery from going nucular if a short occurs. Just order a few extra springs from rob so you can replace that one and have extras on hand

Grab a new spring or send it in for some rehab the battery shouldn't be lose

It looks pretty simple to install a new spring, on first glance... There's a screw on the outside at the bottom. Love your accessories page.. its grown.
