Anyone have any good classic car flame graphics? My cousin and her insignificant other are considering Chucks, and he is kind of a classic hotrodder looking for the racing flames thing.

The only ones I have been able to find online have already been used on Chucks and/or are just clones of those graphics.

Not sure if just changing the colors would be adequate for the "no two chucks" rule.

I was thinking classic red/yellow on matte black. Also was thinking he might like that metallic purple with maybe a silver, and that way it will kind of match the purple one my cousin wants.

I think CTJ told me that Jeff could print metallics if requested. I think he's planning on two big Chucks, the matte black matches his hotrod and the purple one (I think) matches his Harely (or rather the pieces of his Harley that have been a work in progress for about 10 years lol)

There are ton of neat ones I've found, but the are pictures applied to cars, which makes it hard to extract. I tried doing it from the ground up a couple weeks ago, and although they were cool, they didn't really look like flames lol.

I've done some ghost flames stuff on some leatherwork I've done...and I usually go with taking some of the flame decals and stuff you can find and make templates...(but the trick isnt so much to make templates of the flames themselves but the background shapes..and then rearranging the templates how you like to get a layer...and then doing 2 or 3 seperate layers...
That made total sense to me but I'm sure it sounds confusing as hell..point was trying to just do/draw the flames more often than not comes out looking goofy..making templates of the background less so..
Kinda like these template pieces (which I liberated from somewhere else):

Here's a couple quickies. If I can get some feedback/direction I can further refine as needed (or start all over? or just give up?):

Matte:

Gloss:

Full color:

All of these are single layers of flames, multiple layers can be done but this is the more "classic" flame look.

And, to compare:

yeah that's not an easy one to find good variations of that aren't extremely similar.

I'm sure none of these are really what you're looking for but figured I'd post them anyhow since I spent time looking ;)

Thanks Thy!

I like the blue one you posted. I considered doing blue flames for WS until he said it's supposed to match classic hotrod flames and be red on black. The only problem with that blue one (color could be easily changed in PS to red) is that it's currently not seamless and would require cleanup to get the edges to match. Not a big deal or a lot of time but thought I'd mention it as I'd be suprised if someone didn't want blue flames (or white with blue edges!).

Yeah. Most of them I post I just figure if someone likes one they can find one of you guys to clean them up to better fit what they're looking for if need be ;)
