Alright. I'm really good with Photoshop, I created my own graphic but I'm having a PROBLEM... I actually had to use Gimpshop because my good computer has a virus...

When I created my blank canvas, no matter what I couldn't get the dimensions to exactly

Okay the dimensions for the LITTLE CHUCK are 2.85" by 3"
I can't create a blank canvas at 2.85"

It rounds down to 2.847" and no matter what won't let me make it 2.85"

Is this going to be a problem? Is it going to be noticeable? How can I fix this? Is there anyone who can convert 2.85" into pixels EXACTLy?

Photoshop VS Reality... Here is a template for the CHUCK, the shaded area is what can be realistically viwed without having to rotate it.

Depending on the image, seeing only a slice of it makes it undistinguishable.

Here's the template for a big Chuck. For a Little Chuck take 1.5" off the bottom. As for who has the expertise to make it fit right, I'd say Jeff does.

Ok, I tried this just now. If, when you're creating your file, you up your resolution to 100 pixels/inch, the dimensions will stay true.

(I'm assuming your resolution defaults to 75ppi as it did in my prehistoric Photoshop 7)
In any case, the pixel value of your canvas edge is simply inches x resolution (pixels per inch).
@ 75ppi (2.85 inches x 75 = 213.75 pixels) which will round up to 214.

So you think Jeff would just fix it for me if I asked him to?
Jeff is an artist. Look at the pr0n from June 13 -- his instructions for the 3rd one down were to make it as steampunk as possible. One of my favorites is the one with intertwined piano keyboards. If I remember correctly, the person who got that had sent him a few pictures of keyboards as examples and he created the end result.

Most of us know exactly what we want so we send it to him. But if you tell him what you are looking for, he can definitely work with you to get it right.

Beware!!

Getting it exactly right isn't really as big a deal as you might think.
There has to be a small gap above and below the picture so the clear coat will hold.

If you don't leave that gap, Jeff will make that gap anyway.
Check out my Chargers Chuck on the left for example.

Just remember the gap when considering how your image will work with the color of your Chuck and the color of your endcaps, because all three will be involved in the final aesthetic.

Okay so you think it'll be fine the way it is then?

I think that's up to you. I'm purely speculating, but I don't think .03 inches are going to make a noticeable difference. The point DC2 makes about the exposed base color on the edges is a very important one IMHO.

Maybe when you finish your graphic you can post it, get some feedback.

Wait, I think I get it now...

So you are talking about the dimension for the "around" part, not the "up and down" part?

If so, then I wouldn't want that to be less than it is supposed to be.
In fact, I would err on the side of making it bigger and letting it overlap a bit.

Now if you're talking about the "up and down" part, then no, it won't matter.
Jeff is going to shave more off the top/bottom than that anyway.
