Hi, y'all. I'm SO excited about vaping! And I'm SO grateful for this board! I was gonna order an EAZE Magnum starter kit yesterday morning, but checked this forum out first. Blue Knight's thread maybe saved me from the frustrating nightmare a lot of members have been subjected to by that company. Thank ALL OF YOU!
I sat here the rest of the day reading, following links, checking suppliers' sites. Now, besides an aching back, I've got some confusion about the e-cig I want to start with.
I didn't see anything on the boards about the Instead brand and I'm kinda leaning toward that one. Does anyone have experience or an opinion about those?
I'm also thinking about just getting the individual components and putting one together. Trying to find the supplier with the best battery, the one with the best atomizer, etc. Would that be a bad idea for a newbie? I'm sure y'all could steer me to the best parts.
Anyway, this is the coolest thing I've come across in a long time and has the potential to greatly improve my life! Woo-Hoo!

there's only one problem. If you ask 10 people what the best e-cig is, you'll get 10 different answers. The most popular seems to be the DSE901.

I have the NJOY NPRO (RN4081) and like it. I was warned about the Health brand e-cig as being the biggest piece of crap around. I ordered one as a spare for 25 bucks, and I works really nice. I keep it for a spare in case my NPRO breaks down. I don't want to go without until a replacement arrives.

think about ordering juice right away. Using straight cartridges will cost you a fortune. I was lucky. The juice arrived before the e-cig, so I started right out with the juice.

This going to be a crap shoot. Pick out what you think you'll like, and you have something to use until you decide to get something else. You won't stop at just one.

Red,

Glad to hear that my post saved you a hundred and one headaches.

My advice to you is this..

If you are new to vaping, go with the DSE901. It is a great all around, well rounded e-cig and many suppliers sell batteries and atomizers for it. If you can't find any spares or juice from one supplier, you can very easily find another supplier.

In this season that we are all in, many suppliers are suffering inventory problems because of their orders being held by customs. With the DSE901, you can find what you need from one of the many suppliers on this forum.

As far a mixing and matching, many people do that. I for one use PeeWee atomizers with Smoking Everywhere Batteries to get the most of my RN4081 e-cig.

There is a thread somewhere that focuses on compatibility of the different types of e-cigs. If I can find it I'll post it up for you in the near future.

If you are still looking for a Eaze Magnum type e-cig out there, I believe Bloog is back in stock. They have the loongtotem V9. I can not tell you however how good or not they are because I do not own one.

I do own a Vapor King thou, which is a 2 peice design and am very happy with it. However, like many other suppliers, they have problems with customs as well but supply is trinkling in a little at a time.

I agree with one of the prior posts, you ask 10 people, you'll get 10 aqnswers. Everyone has different tastes and needs. It will take a little experimenting with different models before you find the right one for your vaping needs.

However, you can not go wrong with the DSE901.

Good Luck

Thanks for the replies. It's becoming a little clearer now.

When you talk of RN4081 and DSE901 and other models, does that refer to the batteries or the style or size or what? Most of the sellers I've seen don't refer to their products with those numbers. I've looked for some kinda key to that, but haven't found anything yet. I know now that an NJOY NPRO is an RN4081. Thanks, Jim.

Your last post in that thread, Blue Knight, was what I thought was my answer. I immediately went looking for the Vapor King, but nobody had it.

I've looked at a couple of the suppliers from the forum like you said and a couple of things were cleared up. There is load of info here and links to loads more. I'll just keep reading and scratching and eventually decide what to start with. I'm really anxious to get started and at first thought it was just give 'em my card number, click checkout, wait a couple of days and I'd be VAPIN'!

Thanks everyone.

Oh, and I'll look for that thread, too. But if you find it and post it, thanks!

When I first started in with vaping, all the model numbers gave me a headache. Truth be told, they still do. ;)

The 901 is often touted as the best started e-cig. As others have noted, it's commonly stocked by many suppliers, so it's easy to find replacement parts, and it's also a tried and true model--no real bugs unlike some of the newer products out there. It doesn't have as long a battery life or as big a cartridge as the penstyle (often referred to as an 801), but it's sometimes easier for those used to cigarettes to use because it's a bit closer in size to a cigarette.

But even though the DSE901 is generally recommended to new e-smokers, it's really not a beginner e-cig. It's not like, for example, a tricycle that gets quickly traded in for a two-wheeler. Even though I have many models in my personal arsenal, I still use my DSE901 on a fairly regular basis.

The only supplier that sells the Vapor King is Vapor4life.com.
They have a sub-forum also. I would suggest that you go over there and take a peek.

Customer Service is pretty good, the batteries are much more superior to Smoke51's and the vapor and flavor are pretty good as well. The carts last you a long time also. Although the carts are at $12.50 for a pack of 5, they can be very easily refilled. and I mean EASY.
The only setback is that they are low on inventory because of the issue that everyone is having with customs, but if you are patient, you'll be happily vapin along.
