Hello! I'm new here and to vaping in general. I was given an 1100mAh eGo One starter kit and some god awful coffee espresso 0mg nic eliquid by one of my friends about a week ago and I've just been playing around with it on my free time. I've already run into some problems with the eGo One especially with flooding/leaking with both the 0.5ohm coil and the 1.0ohm coil BUT that's not going to stop me because looking at the vapor floating around is fun and actually quite relaxing. Anyway, I've decided to give up on the eGo tank for now and go ahead and purchase a new tank to go with the eGo One batter. Now, I don't have any experience with buying tanks and which is the best but I've been doing some diligent research and I've narrowed my choices down to two contenders:

Kanger Protank 3
Kanger Subtank Nano

I'm leaning towards the Protank 3 just because it's cheaper and I'm new to this whole thing so I don't want to go dropping cash everywhere. However, I could still use some opinions. What are some tanks that you could all recommend to a newbie like me? What about eliquid flavors (preferably 0mg nic)?

Welcome!!
That's a heck of a gift.

The Subtank (standard, mini, nano) is a great tank, and while I'm usually hesitant to recommend sub-ohm stuff right off the bat, it seems you've been vaping in about the same range.
While it's a bit more expensive than the Protank, you'll have a lot more fun with it, and the capability to rebuild it with the RBA section or even the stock coils opens up a new world for ya.

The Atlantis, to me, is a subpar alternative to the Subtank, but your experience may vary.
If you get a chance to visit a local vape store, see if any of the customers or employees have something you can try.
The proof is always in the pudding flavored vape.

within my own thoughts....
Hi Renzin and welcome to ECF. I made the mistake of getting some cheaper tanks when i first started vaping and i regretted that decision. Only because i was burning out the coils faster than i liked. So i invested in a Nautilus Mini by Aspire and it was well worth the investment....you won't regret getting a more expensive tank, because it will determine your vape experience as far as flavor and overall satisfaction.

But i would recommend the Nautilus Mini, Kanger Aerotank mini and/or the GS Air by eLeaf. Yes, they're a bit more expensive than what most want to pay for a tank in the beginning, but again....they are an investment in aiding you to quit smoking as well as enjoying your vape!

Hi Renzin and welcome to the forum!

I don't have anything to add to the above suggestions. They are all good tanks. If you are going to get into building your own coils, which is fun, you need to do it safely. Mostly, that is about batteries.

For info on batteries Baditude has several excellent blog posts on the subject. His blogs on battery safety are a must read before you venture into the world of sub-ohm vaping.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/for...ected-icr.html

Reliable sources for batteries:
Batteries-Chargers-Flashlights-Only The Best
Authentic AW Batteries - RTD Vapor
Illumn.com - Flashlights, Batteries, Carry Gear, Intelligent LED Lighting, and More!

Do not buy batteries from eBay or Amazon. Some of their third party sellers sell fakes.

... and finally, here's a link that explains things in pretty simple terms: Vaping Battery Safety & Ohms Law Illustrated and explained in very simple terms

Have fun and Happy Vaping!

Thank you for show me those links! I had actually seen the video in the last link during my research into vaping. I know quite a bit about batteries and resistance already but I was looking more into the materials used in building coils especially the cotton fabric and the companies that sell the cotton. From what I've gathered the quality of the cottons can effect the resistance of a newly rebuilt coil so I was gathering as much information on that as I could.
