I live in Central Jersey as well. The convenience stores in my area swear they are selling a ton of cigalikes, though I have yet to see a vaper, other then my mom and a friend both who I have converted! As far as the article....not bad.
I suggest the reason why so many report they haven't seen
vapers e-smoking in public is because most vapers do not openly vape
in stores and restaurants. When seen on the street or while driving ...
its almost impossible to know if someone is vaping or smoking
IF they are using a cig-a-like ... unless we are very close to them.

By the way ...
Just saw a post with a video in the E-cigarettes in Public forum
which "cracked me up" ... Great Video LINK

Good article. But I was talking about the "cool" factor with my brother last night, not about this article, but others I have seen. Seems to me the junk science is starting to backfire for the ANTZ agenda. They run and hide when truth is shoved back in their faces. So now the trend seems to be to attack how uncool and non-outlaw ecigs are. James Dean would never vape so why do you?? I find this to be insanely backwards, since they seem to now be using the actual psychological strategies of cigarette marketing that got us hooked to the cancer sticks to cast doubt on a technology that is keeping us from the very product they want us to avoid.

I am seeing this odd tactic more and more, sometimes it is the entire point of an anti-vaping article. In another one, Noel Gallagher, who would eagerly get into a fist fight with a lamp post, is belittling a drummer who is vaping, saying if he won't have a real one don't have anything, and the thing glowed green at the end...how silly!

Watch for this cool-factor tactic to increase in use, as the science comes more and more firmly in our favor.

One of the posted comments ...
"So funny. The tone of the article is kind of like kooky-whacky-goofy ecigs! - what will they think of next? The truth of the matter is that vaping is a great alternative to smoking and it only seems weird cus you don't see it that often. Some day it will be the norm and analogue cigarette smoking will look "weird".
