We see so many negative articles posted. It's nice to see a very positive article that doesn't turn out to be an advertisement in disguise. I love the final paragraph.

Why is Bloomberg keeping New Yorkers smoking? | The Great Debate

Bloomberg isn’t the only elected official targeting e-cigs. Earlier this year Republican lawmakers in the South Carolina legislature introduced a bill to impose an excise tax on e-cigs. That bill was ultimately defeated.

But it previewed the debate likely to take place in state capitals around the country in coming years, as revenue-hungry politicians attempt to squeeze as much as they can out of a new product that depletes their precious tobacco tax revenues.

At the very least, such proposals lay waste to previous claims that punitive taxation of tobacco products was about saving lives. This new attack on e-cigs demonstrates that for many politicians, it really was always about bossing people around. And the money.

Yes!!! ;pumping elbow: One of the most cogent, rational articles on the ecig issue to date. He quotes Mike Siegel and the Drexel study. This would be an excellent article to link to in rebuttal comments everywhere, as it's not long but covers all the bases. And that last paragraph is a gem!

Thanks for posting this, Vocalek!

Pretty much says it all right there!

Bloomberg is getting ready to push for a series of ordinances intended to drive electronic cigarettes off the market in Gotham. In doing so, Bloomberg is making it evident that he really does just want to boss people around — even if it’s not for their well-being

from the article: "One unintended consequence could be to keep New Yorkers smoking tobacco cigarettes..."

It is not an unintended consequence.

It is the driving force behind virtually all anti-ecig legislation.

The money, you know.

Yup Big Pharma is fighting dirty to save NRT's and qiot smoking meds! and Govt is fighting hard to save Sin Tax.

Wanna see just how deep the rabbit hole goes

Google "Operation Northwoods" then try to say "they wouldn't do that to us"

Ultimately it truly boils down to "follow the money"

Who will benefit the MOST financially if they can ban/restrict/regulate/tax a thing people do? That will give you a good place to start looking...

You're not a conspiracy theorists (**cough** tinfoil hatter **cough**), if they ARE out to get you!

That's exactly what they did with 9/11 IMO. How does a commercial airliner crash into the Pentagon without getting shot down?

Also 9/11 New HQ Military Plane Footage - Undeniable new 9/11 WTC DRONE PLANE PROOF - YouTube - Suspicious.

Yup, makes you wonder hey....

For example, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSDfbm8OhCg

Look @ the flat undercarriage on the plane in video, then google image a boeing 757,767 which aparently were the planes used in the attacks. Notice their undercarriages are rounded.

I have worried a bit about Americans, even friends of mine, are quick to grab conspiracy theories. I take it all back, you have good reason to worry. I bet our lot are just as bad but we don't seem to hear much about it...... Maybe the weapons of mass destruction and Iraq.
