Hi All!

I have been reading and learning so much here at ECF for the past month. I decided it's time for me to post a short introduction and a word of thanks to all of the participants here. I have been smoke free since 11/11/11 and since that time I have no desire for analogs whatsoever! I started out on a disposable Blu-ecig that hubby drew my attention to at a local convenience store. We were both very surprised when I took my first drag, the little blue light coming on, and vapor from the other end, we were amazed! Please remember, up until last week, we weren't even aware of the e-cig's existence.

After my first drag, I said, "I could quit smoking with one of these, for sure." My disposable quickly ran out and I bought another, but also started to research e cigs in depth. I sifted through various suppliers and found several I wanted to patronize. I decided to go with the JOYE 510 for my first rechargeable. I still use it as a backup, but after I started to really rely on it when I quit smoking altogether, I found that I needed a more dependable battery, hence the Ego was my next purchase and I was thrilled! I have a passthrough, but I think it was wearing down my 510 attys, so I'm not using it much right now. I might get a variable mod next.

Anyway, that's my short story and I'm so happy to be part of the "smoke-no-more" crowd. vaping is fantastic!

Hello and welcome to ecf....Fantastic job......sounds like you are doing just fine.....I would recommend cartomizers and or tanks tho.....less time filling cause the atty and cart don't hold much in way of ejuice.......but as long as it is working that is great...

Glad you found us and nice to have you here....

:)

Welcome to ECF, CaramelCathy, and the wide, wonderful (and slightly wacky) world of vaping.

It sounds like you are off to a great start and you have found the web's best, most friendly, most helpful resource to keep you on track and away from those nasty, stinky, burny old cigarets.

Thanks for the welcome therealcmac & Sugar and Spice!

A tank system is DEFINITELY on my list. I purchased a Talon tank for another family member for a Christmas present, I'm hoping I can convert them. It's all I can do to keep from trying this thing out myself. This is probably the system I would've wanted from the very beginning, so that is why I bought it for a present to help this person quit smoking. :)

Welcome. Got the Blu disposable at a Sheetz I take it? Blu was giving me hassle about retuning their kit but Sheetz was cool and did the right thing by letting me get my money back. 'm not sure how the Blu disposable ones are but the kit basically brew chunks (short battery life).

I have heard problems about tank systems, but the ego I ordered is a tank system. Friendly advice from a member here said to order some cartos too to see which I like best and that it would be a good economical choice before ordering another tank for it :). Some of what i have been told is that the tanks leak and that they may dull the flavor. I have no first hand experience with it so far.

I have to agree with Eddie - I have found nothing but helpful and friendly people here at ECF. It's a life preserver while drowning in an ocean of information.

After my Blu incident I went a bit whacky with trying to find my next step up PV. Think in the span of 36 hours or so I must have looked at 60 different products/vendors.

Welcome and congratulations o quitting! I think most of us have been were you are at the starting point on the vaping voyage, I started out with an ego-t 1000 mah kit it was o.k but not the warmth I was used to and the leaking was very anoying, I have moved on to cartos now and even a prodigy v 3.1 tube mod so I can vape at 6 volts and get that warmth I used to get from analogs!

Anyway keep at it you've made a good choice in quitting!

Welcome and congrats.

Hi Hvdp, Hoosier and Retriever thank you all for the warm welcome!

EmmaJo, Madriz, and jamentertainmentri it certainly does sound like we've all started on very similar paths. I can't believe I've not heard of an e cig up till now! Come to think of it, a year or two ago I spoke with a rep that I called to make an inquiry who was very insistent and wanted a credit card to sign me up for some kind of vapor cig, but I declined. I like the route I'm on now. I can see had I signed up it would have cost me an arm and a leg!

Tersur I do like cartos but I'm not fond of the dual coils at the moment, not sure if I have a slight cold but the warm vape seems to be irritating my (lower throat upper chest) for some reason. So for the time being I'm staying at a lower voltage, cooler vape

Hi bigtiime yes I've been drooling over the many mods that are out there. I think I want to make a simple mod for starters to help me understand the workings behind it. I've been watching alot of tutorials and in addition to pitching the analogs, this of course is turning into a hobby that I'm really enjoying!

Welcome Cathy!

There is a PA vaper's group: Pennsylvania Vapers

Also, if you're near the York area, we have monthly meet ups (not this month because of the holidays, though).

Hi Red Girl,
Thanks for the link, I will be checking it out. I've been purchasing some of my e-juice from a supplier in York, Blue Mist Vaping. Their juices are very flavorful and the sweet flavors are my favorites. Believe it or not, my "goto" juice is Belgian Waffle! :p
