Greetings ECF. New here and new to vaping. I sure could use some guidance concerning Kool Menthol juice.

I just received my new Joye Mega eGo that I purchased from litecigusa. It came with a 900mAh battery.I am using it with the empty cartridges that came with it. I am filling the cartridges with 16mg kool juice that was included as a courtesy with the mega ego. I am expecting a delivery of some other assorted juices this week but as it stands the Kool 16mg is all I have at the moment. the mega seems to work fine. I cleaned the atomizers by blowing through them a few times until all the primer was cleared and wiping them clean with a paper towel I then put a few drops of kool juice in the cartridge and puffed a few times without inhaling until I had a good vapor then I refilled the cartridge and and began to vape. The mega produced great vapor and a great taste, no bad taste at all but the vapor was very strong. Strong enough to burn the h*ll out of my throat and started me coughing heavily. I have been reading posts on this site for the past few days and have learned much of the art of vaping and figured I was doing it wrong so I tried many variations and still this juice is really harsh. The supplier(litecigusa) only sells Dekang and Americano Flavor Concentrates. The drip bottle is marked only as Kool 16mg so I really do not know what brand it is but I am suspecting that it is the Americano Concentrate. I will probably be able to make a call tomorrow and find out but I really want to have a good experience with this new endeavor and it is setting right here in front of me begging to be vaped. So, does anyone have any suggestions on how to dilute this juice or a remedy for this dilemma. I have a gallon of distilled water and a bottle of pure glycerin (usp) and I ordered a 16oz bottle of PG from the pharmacy but it will not be here until Tuesday. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. I have researched this problem extensively and have not come up with a clear cut direction in which to proceed. The juice I am expecting may be an answer but I still would like to avoid wasting the juice I have. The flavor is descent it is just way to harsh. I must add that I feel very fortunate to have come across this website and have gained much knowledge from the pages herein.

You could get the Glycerin at Walmart (near the rubbing alcohol - Humco brand Glycerin is all vegetable according to the company - USP alone does not mean all vegetable but they said it is all vegetable). Michael's Crafts sells a pricier bottle of Wilton Glycerin with the cake decorating stuff. You could mix some of that and a bit of distilled water (up to 10%) and some of the concentrate. Will be thick but if you are using cartridges (not tanks, not cartomizers) then thick liquid may work OK. But that is too much VG for most cartomizers (I use 20% or less in basic stuffing cartomizers) or tanks (like 30% or less though some thinner 50/50's may work).

If this is your first E-Cigarette it will take a little time getting used to. I know that when I started just 2-1/2 months ago the 510 did that to me at first and you have the Ego which is one of the better kits out there. Take short drags until you get used to it and soon you will be wanting more power.

Thank you for your response. I purchased a bottle of Pure Glycerin(USP) active ingredients 99.5 Anhydrous says for skin protectorant at CVS. Does not say if it is vegetable or not. I tried the Walmart. I did not look around the alcohol but I asked the pharmacist and she acted as if she did not know what I was talking about and said they did not sell it. I also asked about PG, of course she asked me what I needed it for and told me it was antifreeze and said I didn't need it.lol. From what I read I expected this. I asked if she could order it and she abruptly said No. I went across the street to CVS and they ordered it for me, no problem. I do not know if the glycerin mentioned above is vegetable so I am a little apprehensive about trying it with your suggestion. What is your opinion? Well, after thinking about this (which could be dangerous) I suppose the 16 mg on the label tells me the nicotine level in the juice so it must not be concentrate. Thanks again.

Yes, this is my first e-cig so I am really not sure what to expect per my OP. I read a lot about the correct way tonset it up and vape. Read many posts about factory primer causing a bad taste. The flavor was good and it vaped well but it was just way to harsh. I suspect as you said, I will have to use it a while before I get the hang of it but not knowing weather the flavor I have is a concentrate( as it does not state on the label) or not kind of throws me. I tried long drags at first and thought that that may be the problem. Short drags seemed to be better but still harsh. I thought I might try diluting with PV and or distilled water but could only get the glycerin I mentioned and I have read where glycerin is thicker and is not good for the atty. so, here I am. I thought maybe I could try diluting it with just dist.water but could not find much info on the subject. Anyway, thank you for you time.

In the US, if you think something is an eliquid and there is no selection for nicotine level, then look closer - it is probably a concentrated flavoring, not an eliquid.

This particular bottle has 16mg on it so I am thinking it is an eliquid. I need to give it some time. I am looking forward to trying out some new flavors. I smoke menthol's so I had to try it first. Thanks again.

I suspect you have the right stuff and not a concentrate as in your op you said that it was listed as 16mg. That usually indicates it is a product ready to vape and not a consentrated flavoring. As I stated above it will take some time to get used to and there really is no wrong way just your way. Some people have good ideas to improve on thier on experience, but you will get the hang of it soon. I started with a 510 then got an Ego, E-power and higher voltage and each time there is that "oh wow cough cough", but soon way vaping away.

bth, you can add a little distilled water to thin out for better wicking, but you would have to add too much to water it down.

Also, you need to inhale into your mouth, then into your lungs. A lot of people try inhaling directly and have a coughing fit. You may want to try high VG (or all VG) juices. I learned pretty quickly that anything over 20% PG is just too harsh for me. It took me a few weeks after I started vaping to realize that most of the juices I had bought were just too hard on my throat and lungs. Try some sample sizes of 100% VG and see if that doesn't make for a more pleasant vape. You'll see a lot of people saying that 100% VG is too thick, doesn't work in cartos, etc., but I've had no issues with using it.

Thanks for the info. I have some pure glycerin but I am not sure if it is vegetable. It says USP but does not state whether it is vegetable or not. I will have to do some research on it. I am using short draws now and that has seemed to help a lot.

I get my VG at walmart, I found it in the beauty section, it's a skin protectant, label says in large letter GLYCERIN, brand is Humco. Also I saw it at Publics, near the pharmacy, both were around $2.50 for 177 ml (6 fl oz)

I found a post here on ECF that says "Yes, cvs glycerin is one of the humco relabels. It is vg, fine to use.
(I've used it for diy) ". If I can find two more posts that agree, in my mind it will be confirmed. lol

NP, I had a hard time finding it there myself (actually my Gf spotted it lol) but at least you know it IS the same stuff that cvs sells, Humco, so 1 more confirmation and you are good to go with that .

From what I've read in other threads, all USP glycerin is vegetable sourced. I've been using CVS glycerin and had no issues with it. It is USP grade - meaning that it is as pure as practicable, considered safe for pharmaceutical use. I saw some time ago, but haven't been able to find the thread, an explanation that "vegetable glycerin" is meaningless in USP standards. That the USP defines "glycerin" only, but that all OTC glycerin sold in the US is sourced by a single manufacturer which uses only vegetable materials.

I received my eGo mega Saturday and I was a little discouraged at first with all the coughing but I have been vaping now for the last hour or so with the short draws and I have also added the mouth pull before inhaling and I am really enjoying it at this point.
