hi everyone, i just joined. *waves*. my story is like so many on here. i spent the last two decades held prisoner to analogs and yesterday it was time for a change. i woke up and spent hours and hours on this website, i read all the threads until my eyes practically bled and went out and bought a starter kit. analog free since and it's hard, but they say nothing worth while is ever easy.

i spent years watching my friends have gorgeous babies as i was cripled in fear of the thought of changing my addictive ways. i longed to be free of the demon i let rule me for years but could never get to that point.

so now i am here, and today is my birthday. i am so happy that i have made a step in the direction to make sure i have many, many, many more.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! At least you'll be able to remember EXACTLY when you quit smoking! Ha. No kidding.....good move. Once you get the pv you need, and some really, really good juice, this is VERY do-able. You've just done a really good thing for yourself. You are going to be surprised how this will work. What are you using (pv) right now? Do you have some good juice? Congratulations and welcome to ECF.

I'm analog free for a week now. The habit seems to be the toughest part to break as I know I have enough nic going through my blood. When I feel that habit kicking in, I just vape HARD...till my teeth start grinding from the nic. Pretty soon I forget that I'm suppose to go on the front porch for a cig after dinner. Good luckl and vape till you gag when you get the urge.

Starrynight....you need to read, read, read all around the forums. I'd suggest starting with the ECF library. Yes, you can say what brand you have....we all talk freely about brands, manufacturers, etc. It helps everyone...especially new people. I don't know what you have, but unless you ordered it online, there a pretty good chance that it's not the *best* pv in the world...or even the best for you. You'll learn a LOT as you go. The juice is the liquid that is in your cartridge...and it's what contains the nicotine. Please tell us what you have so we'll know how to advise you. How many batteries came with your pv? Only one cartridge? What do you do when that runs out? Did a little bottle of liquid come with it? Are there several cartridges? Does it look like (similar) a regular cigarette? Did it come in a kit? It would help if we all knew as much about your set up as possible. I'm fairly certain that unless it came with a little bottle of liquid (and even if it did) that you're going to need to buy some liquid (e-juice) pretty soon.

Many of us started out with kits we got at either a 7-ll store or a mall kiosk. We all paid too much for them before we found this forum and figured out that there are sooooo many Waaaaaay better ones (and cheaper) on line. This is such a new industry that MOST everything is only available on line. This forum is great because it has supplier sections you can check out and feel comfortable ordering from. (If they're listed as suppliers here, then that means they're trustworthy. There are hardware suppliers and juice suppliers....and many companies do both.) Anyway, I look forward to hearing from you exactly what you have...and don't have....so we can point you in the direction you need to go to find the "stuff" you need to maintain this new found "hobby."

Sorta.....not really. The juice is *in* the cartridge. If it's a 3 piece e-cig, it has a battery (the longest part that you screw into the charger,) the atomizer (the piece that screws onto the battery,) and the cartridge (the piece that pushes onto the atomizer.) The cartridge holds the juice. It usually has some polyfill (white stuff) in it that soaks up the juice. Then when you put the cartridge on the atomizer and push the button, or suck on the cartridge (in the case of an automatic battery,) the atomizer (little heating coil down in the bottom) heats the juice up hot enough to create vapor. You then suck the vapor up through the top of the cartridge. The cartridge holds the juice. But it doesn't hold very much of it, and you will run out pretty soon. How many cartridges came with your e-cig? If it's only one, you're going to run out very, very soon. It you got several, then they have the juice already in them and you just use one until it's empty and get a new one out. Problem is, they won't last long. You can refill the cartridges with your own juice.

If you have a 2-piece set up, then you have a battery and a cartomizer (which is a one-piece cartridge and atomizer all together in one piece of plastic. It is the same principle...the juice is dripped onto the atomizer that then heats it up hot enough to make vapor that you then suck out the top. Same thing, though.....they don't last long...and they can be refilled if you have any juice. How many cartridges or cartomizers did you get? Do you have a bottle of juice? How many batteries do you have? The battery will only last maybe a couple of hours at the most, then what are you going to vape on while it charges...which will take a couple of hours...?

Not sure if I'll post before someone else but the juice is what you add to the cart. Some are prefilled others aren't when it dries up you can add more juice.

I think the NJoy disposable was my first e cig too, picked it up a a Loves Travel shoppe just to try before making a commitment.

Also Happy Birthday - Don't rush quitting just enjoy this experience and its likely to come on its own
