Hello Malaysia Sub-Forum!

I hope you are enjoying your e-cigs, believe me I am very jealous!

I want to get one really bad, but I'm just a little bit worried about the troubles people have had. And the cost for Duty.

Has anybody themselves or know someone that has brought/purchased/delivered e-cigs to Brunei?
What troubles have you yourself had in Malaysia (particularly Sarawak - Miri!) getting them in?

BruneiBuyer :D

I have a few friends from Sarawak (Kuching, Miri, Bintulu) and they tell me that e-cigs are non-existent in Sarawak and Sabah, due in part to normal cigarettes are dirt cheap over there (a lot of cigarettes without duty paid) and lack of information. However, there is a well known seller based in Kuching (may be a bit far, but he ships to Brunei). You could look him up at http://ecigarettemalaysia.blog.com/

Like Vikings said, it would be better to buy direct yourself. I had read somewhere that Brunei is listed as prohibits the sale of fake tobacco products (similar to Singapore). If it looks like a cigarette, but uses a battery and atomizer, that will probably qualify as a fake tobacco product. I guess you'll have to get something that doesn't look like a tobacco product.....lol

Thank you sooo much jacktan12. I had the exact same thoughts, but I just needed to hear it from somebody else. They open boxes here and you have to explain what its for. The only way I thought of explaining it was as a Nicotine Replacement Therapy instead of a 'vape' due to the association with drugs (other than nicotine). The problem I would still have would be the nicotine e-liquid as technically that's a poison; I'm just hoping they'll charge the bundle as a tobacco based product? Or is that just wishful thinking?

Declaring it as nicotine replacement therapy may not be such a good idea. The reason is a lot of governments around the world actually use this as an excuse to regulate it as a medical device or product, which could mean that it's regulated, in terms of requiring a prescription to buy, proper authorizations to import, license to distribute, etc. It could cause you more harm than good.

I'm not sure what you can declare e-cigs as to get past Brunei customs, but a lot of people have had success buying metal tube mods and declaring it as machine parts. Also seems to work with wooden box mods as decorative wooden boxes. Haha. No idea what you can declare an Ego-T kit as.....flashlight batteries?

I'm gonna try my best. Take the plunge as it were.

So I would like some suggestions please!

What's the best (cheapest place) that delivers around these parts? I'm assuming Brunei will probably be a bit pricier but I can at least gauge some idea.

I was thinking Australia? Or are there any respectable HK/China based companies that anybody here would recommend?
