Hello All,

My name is Michael & I got into vaping because I am an x-smoker who still likes to have a cigarette with the guys at work, but even after just having 1 or 2 cigarettes at work, my wife could still smell it on me when I came home and was sick of it. I had gotten a set up for both our disabled fathers who have the same terminal illness coincidentally... Lupus & all kinds of associated problems & they were adding to them by smoking 2 packs a day each. They have enjoyed the switch to vaping & it deemed priceless when my dad was hospitalized for surgery a few weeks ago & is still in the hospital vaping discreetly. I'm sure they have a no ecig rule in the hospital, but he didn't ask and they haven't said anything to him...

Anyway, I wanted to get one for myself, but knew I would end up using it more than the couple of cigs I smoke at work, but my wife recommended it as an alternative so I gleefully obliged (trying to hide my excitement)! Apollo was & still is having a special on simple ego kits with a bottle of juice for $15 (good entry point), so I bought one for myself as well as my colleagues that I smoked with. Instantly 2 of them and I quit smoking while the others vape some & smoke less. I do consume more nicotine doing this, so I've started getting the low nicotine juice (I do like the small amount of nicotine so I don't want the 0%). I enjoy this habit, it reminds me of when I used to be single & smoked shisha out of a hookah, but without the whole ritual every time I want a puff. I try to keep it out of the sight of my daughters, but toddlers have the eyes of a hawk! My wife does want me to stop bringing it home, and I don't blame her (I knew this would happen). So I will just bring the small battery ego home & keep it out of her sight as well... maybe when I go to the bathroom or to do man stuff in the garage.

So I know this was a long hello, but felt like sharing my story. I'll see ya'll around the forum & VAPE ON!:D

Don't kid yourself about the hospital not having e-cig rules. Especially in the Delta/Bay area. I lived in Brentwood recently and the looks and aloud opinions I got were crazy! After two years there, I had to get out of Cali. I lived in SD for a while but that was a long time ago and from what I hear from my friends, has changed drastically. Anyway, welcome to the Fam! Glad to have you here. I understand about the Big W thing but she has to understand that you are an individual and have a mind of your own. With you not ingesting all sorts of toxins by vaping you should be allowed a little latitude. You aren't bringing in the smell and leftover particles on your clothes and body. She should be cool with that. You are making a healthier choice for you and your family. Keep after it and stay away from the analogs as if you start back, it will be more intense and frequent. Take it from somebody that knows!

Thanks... yeah, the wild west ain't so wild any more & of course you know all restaurants & bars have been smoke free for years & I understand people not wanting to see something that looks like smoke while they're eating, but some cities are even trying to ban the sale of ecig products which I just plain ludicrous. As for my wife, I do understand her perspective & agree, but I still want to vape at home anyway. We had quit smoking a few years back together when she got pregnant with our first daughter & decided to stay smoke free not just for ourselves, but to be good influences on our children... then I started smoking with the guys at work. Even though vaping isn't detrimental to your health like smoking, we still want to maintain the good influence stance, which is why she doesn't want me bringing it home, plus it makes her want to do it too & she's trying to resist temptation. So just plain ego batteries & small clearomizers that I can stash in my pocket & keep it out of sight & out of mind.
