Greetings guys, like the title says I'm new here and fairly new to vaping.

Currently running a 50w IPV2 box mod with the Silo Mini tank and really enjoying it, especially with the RY4 liquid from E-cigarette Club.

Looking to change tanks in the near future however, not entirely on the main differences in taks. I would need one that is compatible with he 510 mount and 18mg fluid.

was thinking about the Nautilus/Mini tank from Aspire but currently undecided...

Steve, sounds like a good choice. What kind of resistance are you running?

Cheers guys, so apart from the tank size are there any differences between the Nautilus and the Mini??

In general size is the only difference. BUT if you supplier has older inventory the Nautilus may come with BDC's (bottom dual coils) vs BVC's (bottom vertical coils).

The BVC's work much better.

It would need to be 520 compatible of course and I've been reading on the Nautilus line, seems that on the Mini will fit on the 510.

Also two friends of mine are using the Aspire Atlantis mini tank but after some reading they say that you need a different battery and can only use fluids up to 6mg??

Both Nautilus are 510 threaded. They will work on most batteries.

The Aspire Atlantis has a 0.5Ω coil and does need a battery that is able (and safe) to fire it. You would need to cut your nic level by about 50% (or more) due to the large amount of juice vaparized. You will also need to up your juice "vape budget".

The BDC is the old style dual horizontal coil and the BVC is the newer vertical coil. I was using the BVC for a while and liked it as it produces good flavor and vapor at around 12-15 watts on my Hanna 30. I eventually moved to the Lemo rebuildable and am loving it even more. Vaping at 17-20 watts. I save a lot of money building my own coils mainly 1-1.2 oms.

what is the difference between BDC and BVC coils??

HUGE difference in performance.

The BDC is 2 horizontal coils stacked on top of each other (with the wick through the coil and a small amount around the outside). The BVC is 1 vertical coil with a large amount of wicking material wrapped around the coil (airflow directly up through the coil).

There is also a difference in the type of wicking material used. I don't remember what the material was in the BDC's. The BVC's are being changed over to 100% cotton from a cotton/ceramic mix.

Here's a picture: BDC vs BVC.

Was looking at the Kanger Aerotank as well, but it would need to be able to run with an 18mg fluid

I have many Aerotanks that I bought before the Nautilus & the BVC's came out. The Nautilus is much better IMHO.

what are my options other than these then if I'm using an 18mg juice? I am rather partial to the juice I'm using at the moment...

You can still use the 18 mg juice with the Nautilus....but you definitely don't want to do lung hits with it. Direct lung hits with the Nautilus does produce way more vapor than mouth to lung hits, so using 18 mg juice may be overdoing it. When I was doing mouth to lung hits, using 15 mg juice with the Nautilus was fine. Doing direct lung hits, I am now using 12 mg and I can feel the effects of the extra nicotine from the larger hits. I'm planning to drop it further to 6 mg.
