Hey guys, I am looking to start vaping in order to quit smoking! I have a budget of around $150 for everything I need and I would like to get a box mod and have a tank setup with it. I have tried using an aspire kit ( this one Aspire Premium Starter Kit (Nautilus Mini Starter Kit)) but it just doesn't hit hard enough. I just have no idea where to begin, reputable brands, compatability, etc. Any help with a build would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like you may want to try lung hits, a step up from the Aspire and Nautilus would be the Kangertech Subox kit, good for mouth to lung to mimic smoking or as I said, changed the coil to a 0.5ohm and do direct lung inhales.

You will find if you go down that path, lung hits, you will need a slightly higher vg juice and lower your nic level.

It used to be easy answering questions like this but these days the market is flooded with so many options.

You may also want to look at an all in one kit like the Aspire Plato...

It all depends on your style of vaping really

Yup or the new TopTank mini kit. Same thing just top fill. If you have $150 budget though nope thats only $70. Get a mod that can handle 100w+ incase you want something stronger then 60w later and a Herkales Plus, Aspire Triton or TFV4 tank... should be closer to your budget and tanks are better then a SubTank.

I mean like I had to suck way to hard and long for me to feel satisfied with each puff, kinda sorta.

I think we understand this. No problem.. :)

As a starting point, I'd personally choose to put a standard Subtank mini on a nice independent battery mod. Joyetech eVic mini or Sigelei Spark maybe.
Something with temperature control would be useful down the line.

was it a friends? maybe you just need more nicotine you mean or more vapor? I have a Joyetech evic vtc mini, works great but I hear others with problems and it's only 75w. Friends all purchased SubTank's and say their other tank is better. If you want to get a good kit for a good price get the SubTank/TopTank kits or the Cubiod kit looks great too. If you want to spend $150 go with what I said lol.

Hi, If I were in the market for a high wattage reasonably price mod I would buy a Joyetech CUBOID it's 150 Watts and they are available for about $60.00 on the internet. Get a good 4bay charger Nitecore D4 $30.00 and good batteries Samsung R25 $7.50 each and nice RDA like a Wotofo Sapor $19.99 some pre made coils 0.5 ohms 10 for $8.00 Si-pima wick 12ft $10.00, $15.00 ohms tester and your setting on a killer set up.

Hey just stopping by to say hi.

The nicotine delivery that gives you the little head buzz cigarettes would, would depend largely on your coils. Stumbled across some real good coil lately, that makes finer aerosol, which gives a better cigarette like experience. But that's for advanced users, no offense. Willing to share tho :)

I'm going to suggest something different.

Sigelei 213w box mod - $90
Uwell crown - $25
2 x LG HG2 batteries - $15 to 20
1 4 bay charger - $25

Slightly over budget but with this set up you have a mod that can safely fire up to 120W (probably not 213 as stated). The box mod is similar in size to a lot of single battery mods (size of a pack of smokes).

The crowns a great sub ohm tank, no leak, no hassle, great flavor, 3 different prebuilt coils to choose from (0.25, 0.5, ni200 temp control).

LG HG2s rated 20A at 3000mah.

Charger go with nitecore, xtar or efest

I got the TC60W with Melo 2 kit (Eleaf) and absolutely love it.... then my wife tried it, and got one, then my daughter... it's a very nice looking device, sleak, extremely comfortable to hold, and well, there's nothing negative that I can say about it.... it's as near perfect as a mod/tank can be, at least it has been for us.

As I don't know what stores you'd deal with on buy online, it's sold directly from Eleaf for 70$, or 77$ with battery
iStick TC60W Bundle B - iStick TC60W - iStick Series - E-Cig

I would recommend getting a few extra batteries and a charger though. And don't forget to get extra coils....

That would be well in your budget and lots left over.

Alternative, there's also the Pico (66$ no battery), if you'd like a very small mod (with Melo 3 tank)) with even more options (SS and other systems, and is a 75W)

And they take coils that are inter-compatible with a bunch of other brands too, Aspires, Vaperasso, etc. I use the Vaperasso, BUT I've started to rebuild them (very easy) and have been fantastic.

I checked many brands and types before going with it.

The Kangertech have been popular but on my Facebook vaping group, I see a LOT of them being trade off or sold, so that kinda tells me how they aren't all that great.

Howdy! And welcome! The big challenge is finding what works for You - you will get lots of well intentioned recommendations... You may want to start off shooting to go under your budget (not come as close as possible without going over) - there will always be new, shiny stuff coming out, lol... Tank? Uwell crown or supertank mini from tobeco - both are reliable, top fill, great air flow and lots of coil options... Mod? Single or dual battery box? Single - evic vtc mini (solid, well built, versatile, plenty of of power for single battery)... Dual - bit tougher - bang for your buck, continue to hear really good things about joyetech cuboid... Then batteries and charger - lg HG 2 or samsung 30q's for either of those regulated box mods and nite core d4 is good charger
