Hi everyone! I just got my vape for Christmas, woohoo, and have already made the switch from cigs. I got a mini-volt battery and a Nautilus mini tank. Wanted to have the option of 2 different flavors, so bought a second tank, a K3. Switching between Menthol and Vanilla at .6 nic.

Question about the power setting on my battery. What difference does the Wattage make? Less or more power drainage on the battery? More vapor with higher wattage? Harder pull with lower wattage? Use the lowest setting that works for me?

Wondering how often I should change my coil. I've read anywhere from 1-3 weeks. Are there signs I should watch for to indicate it's time to switch? Switching between 2 tanks I should be able to go longer, right? It's amount vaped on the coil, not time, right?

How often should I clean my tank? Do my tanks come fully apart? I haven't tried. I just filled them with juice and started vaping LOL.

Still trying to learn the lingo. Is there a post with vaping vocab?

My daughter and I both use Nautilus Minis. We get about a week to a week and a half, sometimes two weeks, before we need to change the coil. I order the 1.8 ohm coils for us, sometimes the 1.6 ohm coils if the 1.8 is not available.

You need to prime a new coil. Drop some eliquid on the holes on the side of the coil, and a few drops down the center. Re-assemble your tank, and let it sit for a while. Since I use 2 Nautilus Minis, when I change the coil, I vape on the one that already has a good coil, and let the one with the new coil sit until I need to refill and change the other tank.

Start at the lowest wattage your device is capable of. Slowly work your way up until you are happy with the flavor and the vape.

The Nautilus Mini has airflow control. I use mine on a CoolFire IV battery at 8.5 watts, and am happy with my vape when the airflow is wide open. You will have to experiment to see where your "sweet spot" is.

Don't be afraid to play with your vape until you are happy and satisfied. You may want or need to adjust your nicotine and/or pg/vg levels until you find out what works for you. Vaping is a very personal experience. What is right for someone else may or may not be right for you.

I can only offer my experience with the Nautilus Mini. I have never owned or used the other tank that you mentioned, so I cannot comment on it, other than to give general information that pertains to most tanks.

Relax. Enjoy. Play with your vape until you are familiar with it, and find the "sweet spot" that is right for you, and the way that you vape. There are so many members here who are ready, willing, and able to help you find the vape that is right for you.

Lower watts equals less drain and stress on your battery. Yes more vapor with higher wattage. I suppose too low wattage might affect the pull if your coil floods from the juice not being vaporized as fast as you're pulling it in. Most coils have a low and high wattage range printed on them these days. start at the low end and work your way up til you're doing a happy dance. I wouldn't exceed the high end rating tho you might get away with going over a little. If it starts to taste burnt back it down!

You'll know when it's time. When your juice starts to taste 'Off' or burnt. Sure if you're only using each tank 1/2 The time you'll extend the time between changes. Exactly right about amount vs time.

I use rewickable/rebuildable coils. I rewick every 5-6 weeks whether needed or not. That's when I usually clean tanks. Don't know about your particular tank being disassembled. LOL I usually do the same as you jus fill the dang thing and vape it!

I can't add much to glowinthedark's post as to how to go about it as she pretty much covered it. I would add though that wattage settings greatly effect the vape. Low ones normally provide lots of taste (sometimes too much) and high ones more vapor less taste. Your sweet spot is normally found in the middle somewhere. Expect the sweet spot wattage setting to change with different coils, different atomizers, different juices, and even how you feel that day. Don't be afraid to experiment.

Only 2 different flavors? I've got 5 different flavors sitting in front of me, and I'm at work.

I never got less than 5 days or more than 2 weeks with a Nautilus BVC coil.

3 weeks is for people who vape exceedingly clean liquids (not too heavy flavor or none at all) and/or Vape shop owners who want to sell you the coils...

The K3 sounds cool. I don't even like Aspire and the K3 sounds cool.

PS, you'll know when to change the coil as it's obvious to the tastebuds.

In General higher ohm coils/lower wattage (generally MTL) vaping will:
Heat the coil slower, which may produce “less” vapor
Provide A “cooler” tasting vape, can produce more flavor
May use less E-Juice (<$ less money)
Prolong battery life (<$)
Prolong coil life (<$)
Prolong wick life (<$)
May result in less PV maintenance/Issues
Less irritation to non vapers
Aids stealth vaping
May be better in the long run healthwise (<$)

When your e=liquid starts to change it's taste to your taste detriment.

Welcome. Probably start @ 7.5watts. Any lower and I found my Nautilus gets bogged down. Many of us use them @ 10-12 watts but it's totally your preference of course. Have fun.
