Gripper : 510 Mega Cartomizer and Compatible Replacements

I recently got a Gripper from madvapes and this cartomizer fits perfectly 510 Dual Coil Stainless Mega Cartomizer, 1.5 ohm. The gripper requires a cartomizer with at least 44mm in length but I'm not sure what diameter it is. I've been doing a little research to see if I can't find something for cheaper. Although not much cheaper I found $1.49 DCT Pre-Punched Tank Cartomizer (Flanged) - 3.0 on FT but it appears to have something at the bottom that is bigger in diameter than the actual tube. It also seems to also have some oval cut outs on the side. I assume the oval cut outs are the "Flanged". Will that interfere with anything? Will that bottom disk looking thing interfere with the diameter?

I'm very happy with madvapes...don't get me wrong...superb shipping, price, and service...I just don't want to necessarily be tied to one company for replacement parts and would like to look around. They do offer a Gripper 510 Extension wich allows me to use any 510 cartomizer or tank but that kind of defeats the purpose of my purchase for a stealthy vape as then it extends way further than it needs to.

Besides the 44mm length requirement what else should I be searching for that will fit inside of the opening perfectly? What should I be googleing or looking for on other ecig sites?

EDIT: Also another reason I was looking around was for a wider variety in ohm resistance. It's a mechanical mod so wouldn't mind finding something closer to 1.0 or 1.2 ohms.

That DCT carto is to be inserted into a tank and 'fed' via the slot. It would be worthless in your Gripper. Sorry...

I don't own a Gripper so I can't help much. But, I can tell you that FLanged cartos probably won't work in it, and definitely not punched or slotted cartos. The ones you linked to are for a carto tank.

or these: Vision 510 Nano Clearomizer would fit?

I've used the Ce3's and they actually work quite well, a little bit of a pain to fill with a syringe but worth it!

I hate how ECF links sometimes don't work. If you hit reply with quote you can get the actual URL that was posted rather than being redirected to affiliate site.

Anyway I wish they would give dimensions on more sites. I'd have to email the sites on the height first. And since diameter is a bit fuzzy at the moment it would be nice to know that as well. So your guess is good as mine if they would work.

Gripper works really good just hope I didn't buy something that will only work with a few cartomizers. It was 10$ and looked pretty stealthy...impulse buy

Yeah the ones with tanks are using the Gripper 510 Extension which basically is a basically a adapter that has a 510 male on bottom and 510 female on top. It fills the entire length of the tube and then allows you to put a cartomizer or tank on top of it. I have one of those already but as I said in OP it kind of defeats my main reason for the purchase which was the stealth vape.

If I hold it in palm no one knows what it is. If I use the extension It looks like I have an ecig or tank coming out of my fist Again fine in certain situations but was looking for cartomizer that fits it for "stealth mode".

Sorry I should have posted the sizes. A Ce3 is 1 cm wide and 60 mm tall without the included driptip, with the drip tip it is 75 mm tall. As for the Nano I don't have one anymore but it is 1 or 2 mm thinner and maybe a hair taller, I'd say around 75 to 80 mm tall. The Nano was exactly the same width as a Blu 510 battery and a Ce3 over hangs a tiny bit.

Tallness doesn't matter too much as long as it's at least 44 mm. Think the one's you posted are at least that. The kicker is it looks like the diameter of the hole is only 9mm so 1 cm wide I don't think is going to work. It may be at most 9.5mm but from measurements with ruler looks more like 9mm for the diameter.

Yeah and after reading description further of Smok Tech Stainless 1.7 ohm 510 Mega Cartomizer - Cartomizers - E-Cig Parts which I know works...it says 9mm diameter.

And according to FastTech the SmokTech brand $7.61 Authentic Smoktech 510 Dual Coil Cartomizers (5-Pack) 5-pack - 1.5 ± 0.2 has a 9.5 mm diameter. 0.5 mm is pretty small difference but the one I have in there now that is 9mm is pretty snug.

And according to Boge 510 SR 3.0 ohm - Black (5pack) the Boge have a diameter of 10.1. So you must have to use the Mega Cartomizer or the adapter from there site as all the other ones I've seen are bigger diameter unless someone else knows otherwise.

Hmm again further reading indicates that Gripper is a product of Smoktech so would think their cartomizers would fit even though FT says they have a diameter of 9.5mm

Just about any tank or cartomizer will work with the 510 to 510 extension...but you lose out on the stealth mode...I specifically asked for those that would work without using the adapter/extension.

That being said the Vision Nano someone mentioned that earlier and I finally found specs on it. Vision Nano Clearomizer - Bottom Coil 1ml it has a 9mm diameter so yes that one would be an option. Couldn't find the specs for the Kanger T4 but only saw versions with the ego threading so that's not going to fit down the hole.

Wish all sites would give you the specs on the products the sell such as length/(width/height) or (diameter).

I have a Gripper. Any 45mm length cartomizer without pre-punched holes (these are for cartotanks) and without a flange (also for cartotanks) will work in the Gripper. The Nano clearomizers will not work (they are too wide in diameter to fit inside the mod).



I usually use the Gripper Extender with an IBTanked pyrex cartotank (a halfling 15mm tank). This tank is shorter in height than standard cartotanks, and requires special "shorty" cartomizers sold by IBTanked. The Gripper itself is so small that even with this tank on top only the drip tip of the tank shows when I use the Gripper. This is the setup I use when I stealth vape at the cinema

V2 510 Shorty Extension- Unsealed is that the shorty you guys are talking about? Does that go in the bottom of the gripper. That seems like it would be a major pain to get out if your cartomizer came unscrewed and the shorty was stuck at the bottom.

Hmm thanks for that maybe the stainless steel ones are 9 mm. I could have sworn the black ones I linked earlier had a larger diameter.

I wasn't aware of the shorty but still think it could get stuck in the bottom. I was thinking you guys were talking about the extender which I linked in OP that basically makes the hole worthless as nothing is protruding into it.
