So, it's marked on my calendar. I've been thinking about it off and on all month (especially in light of recent stressors). So Friday, January 27, 2012 arrives, I eventually log in to ECF, and -- totally forget that 1/27/12 (yesterday) was my one-year vapeversary!!

So, one whole year cigarette-free!
Me, who loved cigarettes as if I'd invented them, who'd had no thought of ever quitting, who only started to experiment with vaping as an alternative for those times/places where the idiot world would not let me smoke! Me, who loved tobacco in all its delicious forms (I still love tobacco flavors, always have, always will!
).
I ordered and received a V2 kit sometime before Thanksgiving in 2010. Hack, couch, blech, so not acceptable for even 5 minutes' use. Whole e-cig idea tabled for the nonce. A few weeks later, I revisit the concept online, stumble onto ECF, and begin lurking -- especially at a subforum called "Vapor4Life." Starter kit ordered sometime around New Year's, I think. Ignored kit a week or so, then opened it up. Within days, was vaping as much as or more than smoking each day (oh that RY4! and that Grape! and those Coffee samplers!
). Went to bed on the night of 1/27/11, and it hit me: I had not had a single cigarette all day. Nor had I even thought about one.

Continued to lurk on ECF, finally got up the nerve to join in early February, and have been happily vaping and learning and laughing and vaping and meeting really neat people ever since.
Thank you, ECF and V4L.
I know I shouldn't do this because I will absolutely forget some names, but I was especially "egged on" in sticking with vaping (it took months to feel "real" that I had actually stopped smoking, and could envision a life with no more cigarettes ever!) by certain people on this forum, especially: Joyce, Keelala, jbmcdan, Anita, Lisa, Katz, krashnash, IowaGal, Keyzy, jeffree, and of course SnowDragon and Morandir. Also crucial were some of our dearly departed, such as Mookelboo, Starsong, Keener and Nevada. And last but never least, the wonderful V4L staff who engage so much with us: Wader, Mark and my favorite CS guy Bobby!

I thank ALL of the "e-people" whom I have met and enjoyed around ECF for this bewildering "accomplishment." I know you are all real, not just figments of my computer screen, and I wish I could hug every single one of you. (We smell good now, too!
)
I did celebrate this yesterday without even realizing it: I took my car into the dealership, and sat all cozy and comfy inside the Customer's Lounge drinking coffee and enjoying my Outlaw Apple as if 'twere the most natural thing in the world! I'm pretty sure I actually sighed out loud with pleasure and relaxation in the moment. (When was the last time any of us got to do that in a public place, when we were smoking rather than vaping?!)
