My FAVORITE place EVER!!
...and, these are my favorite places.
1) For a FABULOUS breakfast (on Longboat Key) Blue Dolphin - if you haven't been, you seriously gotta go!!

2) Beer Can Beach - On Google Maps - 260 North Shore Road - then you can drop the dude onto the map to get to street level. Awesome beach! It's been years since we've been, but I just looked around, and it still looks really nice.

3) Star Fish Co. - Cortez - don't be put off that the area is kind of run down. GREAT food, and great fish!!
Wear your flip flops, shorts...totally casual.

Cortez Village, where Star Fish Company is located, is found on the northern edge of Sarasota Bay. It is one of the few remaining working waterfronts left in Florida. The view from Star's dock is incredible. It includes mangrove islands, Jewfish Key, Longboat Key and Bradenton Beach. Add to that the local commercial fishing fleet and you've got one of the most scenic places found on Florida's Gulf coast.
