Guide me in the ways of vaping...

Hello everyone,

Please bear with me. I've only really known about electronic cigarettes for about three weeks. I've done a fair amount of reading, and am assuming all of my questions have probably been answered previously in this forum, but it's nice to have the answers in one place.

I ordered a branded (m403 I believe) starer kit, without doing too much research. I made this decision because originally I didn't want to deal with filling my own cartridges, and I liked the size, and convenience.

What I've found thus far with this product is that it's quite inconsistent. Upon further research, I've found several similar stories with this particular brand. My biggest concern is that I expected this product to closely emulate an analog cigarette, and I am not receiving the throat hit that I had anticipated. I do believe I have one faulty battery (it came with two) and possibly a faulty atomizer. The customer service seems wonderful, and they are replacing the parts I need. I have found that the batteries only last a couple of hours, and the cartridges are going quick. I'm not sure if this is the specific company, or the model itself.

The bottom line is that it's not what I had hoped for.

So, my first question is:

Should I bother continuing to use this product, while trying different juices and replacement parts to modify the ecig to my needs, or should I consider sucking it up and purchasing a different starter kit all together? If I purchase (what I believe is m403) atomizers from different companies, will this make a difference, or are all atomizers and batteries for the m403 model relatively equal? I understand that this company uses VG, instead of PG, and this might make a difference in the throat hit.

Because I have been disappointed, I am considering just scrapping my purchase, and starting over.

At first I wanted something that looked and acted identical to an analog cigarette, with disposable cartridges, and a traveling charger pack (PCC).

The more I researched, and the experience I've had so far, the more I am now leaning towards a better battery, consistent vapor with a strong throat hit, and refillable cartridges.

Should I:

A. Tinker with my branded m403 to see if I can get some consistency? (I hate thinking I wasted 60 dollars when I could fix it with little expense, and returning the product for a full refund is not an option at this point)

or

B. Purchase a Joye Ego with PCC, and a few juices to try? (this seems to be the best option in the research I've completed)

I just want a solid, consistent product, that’s far less expensive than smoking.

Sorry about the long-winded post, but I wanted to tell my story, and ensure I am asking the right questions. Any help is greatly appreciated! A little background, I’ve been a smoker for about 10 years. Recently, I decided to quit smoking by using smokeless tobacco (dip), in order to break myself of the smoking routine. I now realize that I love nicotine to relax, (just as people love caffeine for a boost), and I find smoking to be expensive, and disgusting, but not nearly as disgusting as the dip bottles I leave all over the place. When I found vaping, I was quite excited to say the least.

I'd probably go with option B.

I do like the M40x series atomisers but the M403 battery is way too small and underpowered. Also pre-filled carts are rarely any good (and the cartridges on that model are so small that replacing a smoking habit with just cartridges would work out VERY expensive).

So yes, I'd go with the eGo and a selection of juices. It will be a massive improvement. I'd also buy an M401 to 510 adapter for about $2 that will allow you to use the atomiser you have now on the eGo (but that's just me, its not really a priority).

I am a GUY from L.A. not girl. lol
Just FYI, Liberty flights has eGo USB batts for $20 with coupn code ECF. I love mine, my other eGo batts are being given a well needed rest. lol And the mega attys are the bomb. I'll never use 510 attys on my eGos again.

Top right of the page hit settings, then go to general settings on the left. Under messaging turn on personal messages from other members and then click save.

I think all of my settings are set to receive message, but I'm unsure if it's not working because I am a new member. I appreciate the help though! :)

Thank you all for the help. I'll do some more research on the forum to find the best places to order these products.

I think I am going to use my m403 as a back up, purchase an ego stock, and then start thinking about modifications and playing with different juices when I do a little more research and figure out my needs.

I love explaining how this works to non-smokers/non-vapors, although I'm sure it will start getting old in the future :)

Here's my recommendation for a total set-up to get anyone started:

eGo kit (that's 2 complete units w/ extras) $52: Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Joye eGo
drip tip (worth trying!) $2: Mods - Drip Tips
box of blank cartomizers (for in the car) $8: Electronic Cigarette - Cartomizers - 510 Cartomizer

and a sample of juices (get at least 30ml total) $2.25 each: FreedomSmokeUSA

Everything you need to succeed for less than $100. Good Luck!

If you feel experimental you can toss in some adapters (like VaporMadness said:) ) $2.50: Mods - E-Cig Multi Adapters

Excellent, thank you! Have you had any luck with the eGo PCC?

You probably won't need one! Each eGo battery lasts about 8 hours, so leave the house with the one you are using and the spare. You'll still have enough charge left by the end of the day to allow any used up ones to charge up before you need to switch again.

IMO, the PCC for the eGo is redundant (unless you are camping out and won't have electricity for a few days. LOL). Wouldn't hurt to have a passthrough though if you like. They have one that you can use either connected to your computer OR unplugged as a regular battery $21: Electronic Cigarette - Pass-throughs - Joye eGo
