I have been vaping about two weeks now and I am starting to become more curious about tanks and rebuilds. I am currently using an Aspire Nautilus which is far as I can tell I have been having a good experience with however there has been a learning curve for its little problems that happen every now and then. Now all that being said as a newbie I am having a horrible time finding newbie type info... sure there is plenty of videos and stuff out there for example I scowered the internet and videos before purchasing a mod but it took a very long time to start to get a handle on it because most of the info out there is geared for experienced vapers and from what I have experienced there is just nothing really orientated for someone who knows nothing.
So... looking towards the next step in my progression is there any kind of guide to rebuilds that explain really what they are. To give you an example... I like the looks of the patriot but to be honest I have no idea how its filled, maintained, how long the juice lasts... about how the whole ohms thing works in a build.... now actually doing a build seems pretty damn easy and tons of videos on it but I cant find anything on the common stupid stuff that everyone seems to know and not share lol. Also, the kayfun... I hear good and bad things about it... so what rebuild to start with and what is the different terminology? Like I know what an RDA is but then they have tons of different acronyms for the different types of rebuilds.
Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go from here?
thanks!

Hey FRSguy I hear ya, Ive been vaping for just over a month now and I have found it difficult to navigate the natural vaping progression. In this short time ive used several batteries and tanks. I recently purchased a Kayfun 3.1 clone which i use on an Eleaf Istick. I found this to be a good tank to learn about rebuilding coils as it is an RTA. I recommend getting one of those first and start to learn types of coils and wicks that you may prefer. for example micro coil with organic cotton etc, hope that helps. Cheers

Welcome to ECF! (great lookin' pup in your avatar BTW)
The learning curve gets a lot steeper when you start into building/rebuilding. I've only been here a short while and I'm just soaking up the info before jumping into that area, even though I have a lot of experience with DC batteries and electronics.
Hang out around here and read a bunch (Baditudes blogs are essential reading), ask questions and get a feel for what answers are pertinent to what you want to do.
There seems to be a lot of Art in vaping as well as science. Art has to be learned. It cannot be taught.
Best of luck to you, and keep us posted.

Youtube has some really awesome info. If you just type in Patriot RDA you'll find lots of reviews. Here's a Youtube link to give you an idea what I mean. Most of the page has some top reviewers, Rip, Grimm, Todd and Trevor, to name a few.

This time last year I was totally clueless. It all seemed overwhelming. Now I'm really enjoying vaping much more and have learned a lot. There's always new devices and attys coming out which keeps it interesting and fun. Be patient, you'll be amazed at how much you'll learn over a few months.

Frs, RDA is a rebuildable dripping atty like the patriot where you build the coils and drip juice to vape. RTA is a rebuildable tank atty like a Kayfun where you build a coil and the tank auto feeds with gravity and vacuum to the coil.

Both have their advantages and dis. I really like my Kayfun and same with my patriot. It's all personal preference.

If you have funds, start small with a simple or clone RDA then upgrade to KFL or better dripper.

too funny I also have a nautilus mini on an evic! however i have a huskymix she has the same ears as a shepherd

That is funny! My wife and I are currently negotiating a second dog... what is funny Is that I am looking for a husky mix... I am hoping the mix part will tone it down a bit as huskys can be very intense dogs.

1: Nautilus; good quality tank.
2: What mod did you purchase?
3: The patriot is an RDA; no tank; you squirt in some juice, and vape for a few minutes, then stop; like smoking a cigarette.
4: The kayfun is probably the most popular in rebuildable tanks; usually called an RBA, more correctly called RTA.

I have a kayfun but I'm looking for an alternative more protank like type.

For a high quality rebuildable, check out the GP Heron.

There's also the sphereoid, but I never hear much about them; maybe that one is an older model.

As for the Svoemaesto kayfuns, there's the kayfun 3.1, kayfun lite, kayfun lite plus; enough to have me scratching my head;

the one I got is a clone kayfun 3.1 it doesn't have a airflow control ring, it's got a airflow control screw
