Alright so I upgraded! But what did I get? an istick30 on a nautilus with 1.6ohm BVC coils. It was working great even up to 20watts much past that and I get a slight burnt taste but that's great for me right much vapor appreciated! Then today it starts gurgling on me spitering and sputtering. Is the guy at the vape shop an idiot that he thought that a Nautilus with 1.6ohm coils on an istick30 would work, or is it just me?

I'm fairly certain the 1.6 ohm bvc coils were not meant to go quite that high. I get burnt hits on mine at anything over 15. Gurgling might happen if you were vaping a low levels that didn't vaporize all of the liquid and allowed it to pool and overflow a bit. Or it might be a leak in one of the o-rings that is letting the liquid get through the channels.

The 1.6ohm coils are good for a maximum of 15w. Operating at higher than max wattage may burn the surrounding cotton/wick (burnt taste) or fry the coil. I'm sorry to say that coil may be shot.

    I'm surely a 'toodle puffer' as I'm currently using 10/90 PG/VG with a Nautilus 1.8ohm coil @ a whole whooping 6w.
(the 1.8ohm coils can be ran up to 20w)

An istick30 surely gives you room to grow into subohm tanks and work well with a Nautilus with in the Nautilus's operating range.

I used Nauties before switching to RTAs and they were tempermental for me. I asked and did searches and it seemed many had similar issues and just as many had zero issues.

I think my issue, for the gurgling, was that I was tightening to much. My preferred taste is in the 11-18w range so I I probably didn't push the coils hard.

    Land of many beaches.
Turn it down to 12 or lower and stop drawing so hard on it. The strength of the Nautilus that I found with mine (large Nautilus with the crosscut stainless tank) is that they are damn near leak proof. I can take mine on an air flight with a full tank and it doesn't leak. Right way up, upside down, on it's side, from one temp extreme to another, nothing matters. An air flight is the one thing guaranteed to make my other tanks leak, but not the Naughty.

    Rule of thumb: 50%
IF a coil works at 10 watts in might work at 5 watts and at 15 watts
too far either way and you're frowning your eyebrows

    Gurgling:
    Gurgling is when the coil is flooded;
happens in all kinds of ways including when the tank gets hot

I am running at 13.2 watts with 4.9 volts with a 75% vg diy juice. If you blow in the atty just a little before drawing in, it will help stop the gurgling that you hear. A bad habit that my wife had was opening the airflow too high and not drawing enough juice to the coil and so it burns up quicker. I have also found that brand new coils need 15 or so hits before they break in.

If gurgling occurs take the tank off your mod. Wrap it in a paper towel. Sling it 4 or 5 times real hard with the drip tip facing outwards. Excess juice will sling out of the drip tip. Wipe clean and place back on mod. Works every time to clear a flooded tank.

As far as operation I found if you pull to hard you will flood. Hit it to light and you wont get enough juice to the wick and you will get dry hits. You have to let the tank vape for you so to speak is the best way I can put it.

As far as priming the coils...I put 1 drop on each wick hole and about 3 to 4 drops right down the center (I believe its almost better to flood it especially with a new coil. You can always fix a flooded tank but you burn that coil your SOL), assemble coil into base, take a little juice and lube the rubber on the base, fill tank, then assemble the device. Don't tighten to tight but tight enough for it to be seated down on the base. Place tank on your mod. Start low 7 watts several puffs, 8 watts several puffs, 9 watts...you get the picture till you reach your desired wattage. I tend to not push it more than 12 watts on the 1.6 ohm coils. There is a little learning curve but once you get it you will love the tank. Hope this helps! Good Luck!

Okay I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong here...no more than 15w, put in a new atomizer, cleaned dried...can you clean the atomizer housing piece with water? I noticed the thing inside the atomizer housing is loose, it goes in and out to the place that the battery connects to, is that suppose to happen, it acts kinda springy.
Yes, the springy thing is normal. But here's what stopped my issues with the nautilus mini's. When you have it apart to fill, make sure you wipe off the outside of the coil so that juice doesn't end up in the airway, that'll make it gurgle. Also, this one is key, when you're screwing it together again, stop screwing the moment there's any resistance. You can tighten it way tighter than that, but don't as that can loosen the coil and then bam, juice underneath it by the airholes and more gurgling. Nautilus' work best when they're screwed together just finger tight.

I've had the tank for three weeks and I hope I don't have to buy another one.Your trick worked by getting overflow out of the tank. Problem, seem to be doing it quite often though.

What air flow setting do you have it set on? I agree with the above poster that it might be the air flow setting you have it set to. I always used mine wide open on the widest air flow setting. Only when I loaded a fresh coil did I use the middle setting to help with juice flow and every now and then when I wanted an even more flavorful vape. I never used the smallest setting because the air flow was just to restrictive for me. I hope this helps.

On a side note...you mignt want to make sure that lower chamber is dry too. There might still be juice in the lower chamber that might cause it to flood again once you have cleared it.

Gurgling can be caused by simply walking from an airconditioned room to a hot outside. Gurgling is just the coil being slightly flooded.

Turn the tank upside down and take 2-3 puffs off of it. That should clear out any excess juice in the coil and it should work fine after that. You will probably get a drop or two of liquid in your mouth doing this, just spit it out.

I use a Nautilus ever day at work. Going from our 68F server room to 95+ degree temps outside sometimes causes the juice to flood the coil. Just turn it upside down, clear out the excess juice, and it's back to normal.

And for the record, I vape mine between 15W and 19W depending on the juice. With a 60VG/40PG clear juice with very little sweetener I keep it right around 16W and the coils last me a month. I can get the same month of use with a 50/50 clear juice at 19W.
